This is a good deal for consumers in the short-term. However, I am worried what the long-term implications are for the Android ecosystem and partners by Google selling at a loss and cannibalising the market for their partners.

The whole point of the AOSP was that it was to be an OS which would benefit partners as a whole by being interoperable and open. Instead, Google is using its influence to create an uneven playing field and damaging the ability of anyone but Google's favoured Nexus partners to compete.

When I heard the name "Nexus 4" I thought Google had found some common sense and made a normal phone instead of one with a stupidly monstrously huge screen. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

You can't expect common sense from the Google Geek Kids.

A quad core krait S4 and Andreno 320 with an IPS 4.7" display phone and updates straight from google at $349???? Wow this is the best phone that money can offer. Not for heavy multimedia use but you can always use USB OTG no problem with that.

I was planning on buying the xiaomi mi2 but at this price... This will be my second phone and lumia 920 as my main. I'm liking this lg nexus a lot. Why buy two lumia when I could get vanilla android at this price? Nice one. My gs3 will belong to my sister come december.

The price is steal, i have used iphones, sgs3, one x and wihthin months the few weeks excitement was gone. Now i want decent phone and Google LG Nexus 4 is best bang for buck imo, if apple had same specs and price i would have said same. Dont start OS war.

                    It is a good phone.
For those who demand more storage, maybe 1 TB is still not enough.

                                    16GB? 32GB should be a minimum nowadays.
