HTC details Jelly Bean update, 512MB RAM phones not invited

Hi,
I'm sorry to ask but where has the Jelly Bean update started to be deployed for the HTC One S?
I thought it was only for HTC One X.
From a French website, they contacted the French helpdesk of HTC and the update should be available in France on 19th of November for the HTC One X.

up till now for htc one x no jelly bean update is not good for brand like HTC waiting waiting only waiting

Dual core snapdragon 4G Slide from late 2011 still on gingerbread.
Never got any update at all.
What a joke. Last HTC phone I buy for sure...

The only reason HTC is not upgrading to Jelly Bean their 512 MR Ram Devices because of the HTC Sense. Sense is so heavy that at 512 Ram it can not perform well with Jelly bean or ICS.

That would not be feasible since each single device has a different kernel along with its own libs and drivers. So what you're basically referring to as 'universal version of Android' is plain BS. That would never work since Droids have different board configurations, SoCs and proprietary hardware. Android is already 'made for all', what manufacturers just have to do is simply build a kernel and include all the required drivers and libs along with their bloatware UI. The Android core framework is the SAME across all Droids (with slight modifications notably with HTC). The reason for which HTC won't upgrade their older lineup is purely commercial and doing so mighy spoil the user experience, imagine a Droid with 512MB of ram (actually ~350MB usable), that will surely run the latest version of Android but technical limitations would appear notably in multitasking and fluidity of the OS (due to HW composer not supporting older GPUs thay well) not to forgey thier custom Sense UI launcher that would take up some more RAM leaving the user with even less RAM (hence mutitasking crippled).512MB devices are Gingerbread era devices and that's where they should stay imho, sure theu can run ICS and above but they'll run into usability issues in the long run.

My SGS i9000 (Original Galaxy S) runs 4.1.2 (SlimBean ROM) better at stock clocks than it ever ran Froyo, Gingerbread, or ICS with anything up to a 30% overclock.
If they stop cramming all this bloatware onto the phone, you'd be amazed at what it can do.
There's no legitimate reason why a phone with 512MB of RAM can't run 4.1

If you are into this then maybe you can answer one big question...Is there only one machine code? You have your higher level programme languages that go throuigh compiler to end up as machine code..So does it matter not which language you use IE pascal,fortran,basic,Java virtual machine it all ends up as the same machine code?? Thanks in advance if you know..Ive been learning about Lexars,Tokens and Parsers but its still hard to grasp the whole thing and yes i am jealous of folk who can write code,any code.

LEARN! THE PROBLEM IS ANDROID, NOT HTC, SONY, LG, SAMSUNG, ETC. All Google has to do is make a Main Code as a seperate Universal Class in Java then allow for Oem's to connect their ui's to the main code. Since they don't, the OEM's have to change the whole code.
Once Google fixes this, and I think they are worling on getting this type of coding, then that'll solve alot of issues in Android.

Slap in the face to its cust... morewith a wp6+ or iphone/ios, u cant send a file across to a different phone using bluetooth. similar is the case with pc file transfer unless ya use zune/itunes. android, symbian, meego, bada etc are your only options. get a life before posting such krap, please.

Bullshit. It is the same excuse that HTC used when decided to not update some devices as HTC Desire Z to Ice Cream Sandwich. But after they lanunched other phones with worst or same specifications.
I'm really disappointed with HTC, more and more disappointed.

the 512mb ram excuse is marketing. google and OEMs got a deal. you give us an OS which makes an hardware upgrade necessary and we will use your OS. so people will be forced to buy a new phone every year to run the latetst android. and like this the OEMs are makeing money by selling new phones and google by selling apps via play store. in 2 years you won't get any update if your phone dosn't have 3gb ram. that's for sure.
