@Android-Authority
How is USB standard related to a screen refresh rate?
Or you just wanted to trash Sony?

This is very cool! I can now print these stickers and put them on my cables to make them 40gb / 240w certified, right?! Because, it isn't like certification is REQUIRED or anything, just print the label and you're done!
Even if it is required in theory, how does one check if the product is really, actually certified? They can't! So I can just print the label to make any product certified!
And then burn some circuitry with 240W chargers! Yay!

This is pretty good. Now...
> All new laptops above $800 should come with USB 4 and 240w charging via USB C. An appropriate USB cable including charger should be added with the laptop
> All new phones above $500 should come with USB 3.2 Gen 2 with 20Gbps transfer and say 150w charging compatible cable. Of course, most chargers for phones are in the range of 65w to 120W, whereas a few manufacturers hit 150 and 200w.
Hopefully this config stays in the not too distant future.

Android-Authority, 01 Oct 2021Mi 11 Ultra owner here, I almost never connect my phone to ... more"everything is done wirelessly these days" that is true but that's no excuse for poor USB speeds. yes, 30 to 35 mbps transfer speed is poor for a flagship at that price
I always connect my phone to a laptop via cable whenever I am transferring files. not only it's faster, it also does not require any Internet connection. I want my files to be stored LOCALLY so I always transfer gigs worth of files
and the Sony Xperia 1 III does go 120 Hz

How much more speed... moreI regularly transfer gigs worth of files from my phone to other devices like my laptop. we're talking about over 30 GB worth of files. USB 2.0 is NOT acceptable for a 2021 flagship and you're usage is not an excuse. with you're mindset, I guess 5G should not even exist because 4G is already fast right?

--Uhmmmm, the sp... moreMi 11 Ultra owner here, I almost never connect my phone to a cable. Everything is done wirelessly these days.
I get 30-35mbps transfer speeds with a cable which is sufficient for transferring some files.
It's not exactly as fast as my previous Galaxy note 9. But it's not bad either.
I don't connect my phone to a TV through a cable either.
I just screencast whatever I want wirelessly. Most TVs being smart TVs these days, they already stream through your favorite streaming apps, no need of connecting your phone/laptop to your TV like the old days.
Maybe you should give more criticism to phones like Sony Xperia 1 III, where the 4k display isn't even operating at 120hz and overheats with basic use, followed by dropping of refresh rate. This gives rise to overall poor experience in daily use rather than the niche scenario of ultra fast data transfers.

240W of power delivery and USB5 hasn't been even announced, probably that next generation is going to be a very huge step.
