--Uhmmmm, the speed that a $1000 FLAGSHIP phone should actually have in 2021??
People are dissing Apple for their mediocre USB 2.0 speeds on the iPhones, so why should Xiaomi do the same thing if one of their goals is to actually beat Apple in every possible way they can in the business?

Upgrading to USB 3.0 at least can actually make transfer speeds up to twice as fast, and it's not only beneficial for transferring files, but also allows it to connect to other peripherals that may require higher connection speeds.

Your Xiaomi can transfer 1TB file in 1 minute with USB 2.0? That could've been done in just 30 seconds instead with USB 3.0 or 3.1.
If it's an even larger file, you'd eventually appreciate the improvements in speed that's brought by newer USB standards.
After all, I'm certainly not condemning Xiaomi for cheaping out on the hardware of a supposed high-end flagship device in 2021 that's worth a thousand bucks, because doing so will give them the impression that their customers would be fine with this bad practice, and they will surely continue doing this for as long as nobody is forcing them to use better hardware components.

How much more speed... moreThe whole point of buying a flagship is SPEED and that is actually really slow as I can download files faster than you can copy them locally. USB 3.0 was released 2008 so not having that on a 2021 flagship is absolutely ridiculous.

With reliable GaN powersupplies with high wattage delivery already in the market, i can say goodbye to bulky power supplies for gaming laptops, especially with the trend of more thinner and power efficient ones with ryzen cpus. Can’t wait for next gen ryzen to support this standard

Seems like a massive change in personnel there. I was expecting it to be named USB 3.2 2x2x2 for 40 Gbps.

Most people aren't transferring TB worth of data from their phones everyday

This is a step in the right direction but how can one identify a counterfeit?
