Sony did not promised JB for 2011 phones. But they are still giving updates to fix bugs, my teens neoV has just recieved update. So its not true that sony has forgotten 2011 Sony-ericsson phone. To those who claim that 2011 sony is the only phone that gets laggy on ICS think again.

The Arc S has got an 1.4 GHZ Clock speed while J has only 1 GHZ ,also the GPU is mutch better ,Only RAM size is same at 512 ,Arc S has Bigger secreen 4.3 , well I think Physically Arc s has no problems with JB , the metter is about arc s was the last Android phone for SonyEricsson , and this is a kind of policy from Sony to force people buying newer phones always , anyway , am using Arc S and I like it so mutch its a great device specially for those who love hard gaming on android , that was enough for me when a new game from Gameloft or EA can be played smothly on my device !
Just dont forget that we probebly can try unofficial copy of JB on arc s ;) .

Arc S is SonyEricsson products and not a products of Sony. So why they are dont updates it.

I'm not sure why people are calling foul. Its nothing new that Sony left out 2011 phones. A true fan wouldn't be calling foul but instead supporting them in this decision. 2012 is Sony mobile most productive year not 2011. Personally i'm looking forward my Xperia ion getting its JB and even if it wasn't Sony would still support the phone firmware and patch updates, kinda like how they are doing it for 2011 models.

So here's my question to the folk at Sony. If the Xperia J can support JB why can't the Arc S? Last time I checked the Xperia J was a toned down version of the Arc S.
Your flagship phone in 2011 was the Arc S. Samsung's flagship phone in 2011 was the S2. No doubt the S2 is quicker than the Arc S, but Samsung have still committed to a JB update for that device. They didn't have to. The S3 is clearly the most popular phone today and I'm sure by not providing that update for the S2 they'd still continue posting record profits. Yet Samsung did provide the option to upgrade the S2 to JB. Why can't Sony do the same for the Arc S? And clearly if the Xperia J can handle the update, it no longer is a matter of software incompatibility now is it.

Do you mean unlocked bootloader? If so then you have to relock it or update manually.
