Dumb move. If Google Maps was only available for Android, it would be a big draw for Android mobile devices. If you give Apple everything Google comes up with, there will be less motivation to switch from iPhone to an Android device.

Apple maps will only get better and challenge Google. Funny how no one mentioned the complete failure google maps in Australia as well.

This is not about android, this is about Apple releasing a product too early. It seems to be a big problem in the smartphone/ tablet arena. I would rather everyone release a product that works, whether it's iOS, Android or WP based. This fanboy stuff is childish!!

its funny how fandroids and android fan boys, will use anything to attack the living crap out of anything apple. We have people claiming to be ex apple users, saying they've moved on, sure you did buddy, you have people saying someone coudl have died, shortly after that, Australian police issue the same warning towards Google maps. F in ironic.

Actually Nokia Maps IS the best even though their phones suck.
I wish someday to see Nokia Maps arrive as an android app, in that day people will forget about something called Google maps.

Ah, at last, iPhone users have something to cheer for. They were misguided by apple maps for some time & got lost in the wilderness but now they will find their way home :D.. and I hope they realize its best if they put their money & faith in android phones :P :D

Apple asked Google to put turn by turn on iOS but Google only supplied a gimped version, so they had to get dropped. Now Google has to scramble and come crawling back to the Apple honeypot.
Apple's stock price was inflated, but so is Google's. The more online traffic that moves to mobile devices and tablets the less ad revenue Google receives. Google can't figure out a way to monetize it as much. I would explain more, but it seems all you can digest are simple sound bite and headlines.
