            EPIC:

"Xperia Arc S is part of our 2011 portfolio, which won’t be upgraded beyond ICS. The reason being – user experience is at the heart of our product development and support; after thorough evaluation, we concluded that the user experience for our 2011 Xperia smartphones will be superior if they remain on Ice Cream Sandwich versus being upgraded to Jelly Bean.

Yeah i switched to a 2012 model cuz towards the middle of the year sony announced that 2011 wouldn't be getting jelly bean but only 2012 and Xperia U was a model that was supposed to get and now they inform its not getting i'm really disappointed with Sony for lying to its customers i'd have gone for a better one that would get Jelly bean instead of this current one.

maybe i can say that i "accept" that SONY decided not to update my XPERIA U to JB but please release a fix version of ICS for it. . .

Wow. End of q1. How fast are Sony at this. They are only a fee months behind on this. If I was paying out for a high end Sony I would like to think it would have jellybean a bit sooner than 6 months or so after it was released. Worst company for updating their devices. How long will my network branded xperia have to wait. Lame lame lame. And wouldn't mind timescape looms so outdated now.

Sola was a cursed phone right from the start - an incredibly well designed phone with unique floating touch that would not see ICS until a year later...and now no JB.

Actually most android phones in general seem to always be at least one generation behind what the Nexus have.
                                Its a sad fact, really.

So many cookie-horny end-users. All you want is a higher number of the cookie version, yet you are so untechnical so you can't see all the factors as to why certain products will not give a good user-experience (but instead worse) just because you upgrade the cookie. sigh..

Makes me think of the time when people thought that higher megapixel camera always meant better camera which is not the case. Same thing with cores. I predict the next numbers race is gonna be the GPU.

that's sad 'cause i'm using xperia sola. will never get to jelly bean. but if that's what Sony says then so be it. even if my sola is still in gingerbread, i'm still happy with it. not rushing to update it to ICS. still wants to enjoy GB. =)
