Is it too much to ask for one small midranger? I don't need 20 different models with few differences I just want a phone I can use in one hand that isn't cheap garbage or cost an arm and a leg. Just 1 maker and 1 model is that too much?

It may have been the worst seller of their trios, but many of the people who bought it would not even consider buying 6.5+ phones. So manufacturers can either increase the reach of their lineups to these people or leave them for competition. I have a couple girl friends who just don´t want to use phones larger than 6 ish inches. They will not buy any of the larger ones and will just stay with their older devices (like S10e) until someone releases a new alternative.

Small, IP68, 1080P LCD, 3.5mm jack, OIS. The only letdown was the SD630, but I guess that gave it an edge with battery life, so maybe it was worth it

If it uses 4G chip, may be P35 again.
If it uses 5G chip, may be some mediatek on pair with SD480.
Ace2 sold more than expected. More than its rival, Sharp Aquos Wish.

Xz1 compact is Good example of how Mini phone should be made.

Hopefully it turns up a good midrange compact phone. One quality lens is enough. No need for the latest chip or the highest resolution, not even 120mhz refresh rate. 90 is good. Latest android version is a must though. I don't get the idea of cheaper android phones shipping with last year's software. But for Japan only. Why.

No, dear commenters. Market research proved that the mini phones barely sell compared to the bigger alternatives. As much as I hate this fact, it's true. No wonder it became a rarity.

Put one decent camera (13MPs are usually not decent, because those are from mid range which are just here to make it seem like it‘s similar to the good 12 MP sensors) and that Snapdragon 888 and release it globally. This is the same size as the iPhone SE, many people (including me) love that size
