Now every WP8-phone will be totally identical, and that is funny because the reason why Elop/Nokia decided to use WP8 was that it did not want to become just another Android but now they are just one of many identical WP8, from HTC and Samsung and...! If Nokia start using Android then they could add their "Harmattan skin", or any ofter Nokia user interface, and keep Nokia Maps as an exclusive only for Nokia buyers, and Nokia buyers could also choose to install any of the many other good lifetime offline navigaion softwares from Google Play, CoPilot or...!

AnonD-36414, 24 Jan 2013gud for wp,but its gud for only wp.poor nokia. Either elop... moreNever forget NOKIA is first about the Hardware and then about Software! So cheer up!!! Its in the benefit of the platform that they have adopted i.e. WP. So if WP wins, NOKIA wins too obviously.

This is great for Windows Phone, and potentially for Nokia. If this pulls more people over with a better choice of phones, the app store might increase in size with new found demand. That would mean more WP sales in the long run, and more for the Lumia.

Either elop... morehow do you know Nokia is losing on this? do you know their agreement with Microsoft? it's a business at the end of the day and I don't think Nokia just gives for free its maps - yes it may be free for the end user like us but that's all we know:)

Great news for HCt and samsung. I thought of getting HCT 8X coz of smaller size. Since Navigation was my first priority I was actually planning to buy 920. Now I will get HCT for sure.

Either elop is a bastard, trying 2 please ms,his old employer or he met some gud bible preacher;give away and share all what u have...
Poor nokia,i don't like the news and u r not still out of ur poor state.....losing(yes sharing it 2 others means losing) it in such times is same as losing pureview, which is the last weapon u r left wid now.........u shud have done something else 2 expand the ecosystem.

I can't wait for that as I choosen NOT to wait for Lucia WP8 and instead I am currently using a HTC. Weired though considering Nokia had an advantage like that.... Anyway I hope it will be available in Romania soon. Thanks Microsoft!

This news makes me feel jelly as I feel breakdown of Drive+ exclusivity leaves me with one less reason to boast about my brand new white Lumia 920 :-( Anyways, I'm happy that W8 is progressing and this is another step forward into the right direction !!! Congratulations W users. W for life !!

why nokia give away their map to other brands it should be exclusive for nokia only!

btw, my nokia e6 maps/drive much much better than Google map on my note2, no doubt

Are there any differences between Nokias other turn by turn navigation software and Drive+? I used Nokias SatNav feature on my C6-00, and it worked like a charm. I can't imagine how smooth it would be on a proper smartphone, and then they come out with Drive+? Nice.

                              So, differences/enhancements/stuff?

and how long does it take on a wp to get a gps lock?
                                      hours? XD
my galaxy s2 takes less than 10s to get a lock on my position and navigation is free and voice guided. its an amazing experience. . .

                                        Android is buggy os..
Windows is fast, fluid and simple, and its apps are increasing day by day, no body will install 7million apps in thier phone, maximum is 100
. And when it comes to maps, nokia is miles ahead....
