I was pretty impressed with the features of canvas 2 and hd. Im sure to say no other company can give a high end smartphone at this price. Some things i have noticed are both the phones are not satisfying the minimum features of a mobile phone like limited frequencies "GSM 900 / 1800" where as other companies provide bunch of frequencies which improves the call quality. While coming to the hardware quality of these phones the ICs and chips were pretty low quality which consumes a lot of power and obviously the battery back up will be down. Battery back up is more important for a hungry OS like android. And the last and most important thing is the customer service after the purchase of the product. Micromax failed badly at this point. The service people don't know how to handle some minor problems for an android phone.Those people are technically very weak as they not even understand some software related problems.They just book a complaint and keep the phone with them for months and there is no guarantee that the phone will be problem free after the service.You have to visit the service center daily.So mmx cannot be compared with the service provided by Nokia and Samsung . Finally i say is if micromax look after all the above problems and recruit some quality engineers there is no doubt to say that mmx will rule the smartphone world in India.:)

15k 4 a non branded phone is too much.i think about 12k - 13k would be descent.

congrats mm n best of luck for a116 , nice smart phone but y not with a smart price !!
i feels 15000 is at higher side n has to b less(11500) so that real competition starts with other smart phone makers but with 15000 price mm makes sansamg n others a bit ahead. Correct d price before u come to battlefield no doubt,u b d winner.

first thing I saw here is that we indians beleive that Sammy is the holy grail- damn....thats what made cheap plastic sell like gold here...but i ask you guys do some research, gsmarena is a good place to start. samsung was beaten out in displays by HTC (ref HTC one X), in audio quality (though its got a good dac, it isnt utilizing it-same problem as galaxy s), in battery(moto razr maxx), in camera(lumia 920), and absolute s** appeal(iphone)...but still we buy samsungs- as if it was the only company that ever existed.
Second of all, stop micromax bashing, of course they might have the worst service centres(or none at all), they are one company that made it big, not because they advertised like hell a peice of shit and sold them to the vulnerable, but because they studied the market and gave the consumer what he/she wanted keeping the least of margins. yes THE LEAST OF MARGINS.
If your ever think that the galaxy - that 5 incher that comes around 22000 is actually worth it, you must be blind as hell, samsung makes something like 10000 on every phone sold (probably even more), which is more than even what overpriced HTC and Sony make(poor chaps).even by the most outblown estimates, micromax can but make 4000 rs on the canvas2...tell me now

If the prize would have been 12000/- it would have been correct. This will now turn its customers back to A110, who were waiting for 116 HD. Am I wrong ? And one more thing which people are not paying attention is that these phones are having hindi language support which has made them so popular in hindi speaking area. Other companies are ignoring this very fact.

MMX A116 uses a quad core cortex A7 CPU due to which a perfect balance is maintained between battery life and performance.It's display (720p IPS) is also way better than galaxy grand(480×800 only) and just for INR14,999(vs 21500).
