I last went from GS1 to GS3 due to my two year contract and even though I loved the 1, the difference to the 3 was like a quantum leap. Probably going to be the same chasm from the 2 to the 4. Got my 3 on release last summer on a 1 year contract only (paying more upfront for the handset so I can get the 4 if there is a significant improvement again.

Ive never had an iphone, I never will, samsung has and sony are taking over, just hope samsung s4 is a strong build and ill be happy, if not xperia z is my next phone for sure

And once again, people are going crazy for a cheap plastic slab with a crappy AMOLED screen. LCD > AMOLED by a long shot - more accurate color reproduction, true RGB matrix as opposed to PenTile, true whites instead of bluish whites, etc. Several other phones (HTC One X, Droid DNA) have screens that are multitudes better than that on the SIII. Even if the SIV has the new "octo" core, it's really just 2 sets of quad-core processors - only 4 cores will ever be running at once. While Samsung's phones are nothing great, I'll give them credit for strong marketing.

Richie , 18 Feb 2013Sony Exp Z rocks better than this plastic handset i remember when The Xperia S was considered better than the S2 back then, let me tell you the only advantage the Xperia S has is the Display and Camera, now i am positive this will be the same story.

i used to hate Samsung by listening to people like you, now i feel sorry, Note 2 is the best phone i ever bought, tried Nokia N9, iPhone 4S, HTC EVO 3D, and my friend has iPhone 5( he regrets the day he bought it ) and my bro owns the S3 quite satisfied with the quality, performance and durability not as strong as note 2 but enough.

S2 to SIV gonna be a big big jump for me, the speed will be very noticeable I'm sure \o/
I'll then skip SV and will go directly to SVI or any better smartphone in that time.

Richie , 18 Feb 2013Sony Exp Z rocks better than this plastic handset only thing that made me not buy xperia is LCD which you can see colour difference and not perfect black when you tilt sideways... makes uncomfortable when you can identify perfect black panel is not matching black side of display.. but overall xperia z is awesome but lcd is shit

The most important (crucial) thing!!, its not how early Samsung will launch the galaxy s4!.but how great it will finally be!!!!!!!!!!!! (To beat all the other great flagships,like the Sony xperia Z,HTC m7, LG Optimus G pro, iPhone 5s or 6, Motorola x Phone, ASUS and all the others!, like Oppo and so on!!!!!!!!!!.so let's give all the time to Samsung, but to finally produce really the greatest smartphone ever made! , And in all the aspects!!!!!!! (The Samsung galaxy s4! )

I suspect the S4 won't sell that much better than the S3 because there are other phones out there with essentially the same feature-set (5- inch 1080p, 2GB RAM, HDR Camera). Some of these alternatives will even be much cheaper. Eg - Oppo Find 5.
I could be wrong but 8-cores is overkill. There's just no need for all that power at this time.
