Because apple isnt selling low end phones which give you more marketshare and bigger sell numbers. Samsung have their bada and lowend android markets, apple cant compete with that. If apple going to release rumoured cheap iPhone then apple might be number one phone maker by unit numbers, without that its not going to happen.
And its not if, iPhone 4S last year was for sure by far best selling phone.

I started to wonder have apple sold over 100 million iPhone 4S. It could be very close, i found one news which say apple sold 80 million iPhone 4S and if you add newest numbers its around 100 million, and more coming...

Yeah i know year is only beginning, but i cant see anyone beating iPhone 5 sells. Which are already around 40 million, actually now it might be 50 million. I think overall apple is going to sell around 100 million iPhone 5.

The point was about one big flagship never cant beat iPhone size flagship. Because theres a lot more potential buyers for iPhone size flagship phone than huge phone.
Of course theres also good markets for huge phones, but nothing like for smaller device which is high end device.

[deleted post]Didn't you read the news back when iPhone5 was about to be released? iPhone4S sales dropped. Similar thing happening here. S3 sales naturally slowing down because potential buyers are anticipating the S4.

How do you explain increased sales from Galaxy S2 to Galaxy S3 if people preferred smaller size? How do you explain Galaxy Note 1 and 2 doing well in the market?

IPhone can sell quarter after quarter, because for iPhone size phone theres a lot bigger market out there. Its always been like that and thats not going to change.

Another funny thing that these droid users keeps whining about it that..when an iPhone sold out in every store..they claimed that sold out doesn't mean sold well, that it's just apple trying to make them rare by shipping liited quantity, so it goes sold out and gives the feel of success..but now when the story is about shippment, they keep whing that it's just a shippement, not actuall selling...WTFFFF..is wrong with u guys..

Okay..i don't know where do those rumours about iPhone selling drops etc comes from, screamed by those apple haters..but here in my surroundings..apple iPhone5 keeps appearing from my friends pockets..it seems doing pretty well considering the steep price..and no, i'm not from US, I'm from Indonesia...
