People keep demanding for more power and bigger battery and as long as people ask for these, then that is exactly what manufacturers will look to give. I just easily equate bigger power with longer charging time. Sooner or later, people will realized the real trick is making the system efficient.
My S3 is running on power saving mode so it isn't actually even running on full quad core 1.4 GHz. And I gotta admit it's not really lag-free and dialer is slow to load. Turn off CPU power saving (it's the only way I can play Real Racing 3 on my S3) and I lost power in half the time.
On the other hand, my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is running on dual-core 1.2 GHz Android 4.0.4 and barely loses any of its power on standby overnight as I sleep. Upon clearing RAM, the tablet runs on a mere 250++MB of RAM. Sometimes I feel it's more efficient than my S3.
I also find myself fascinated with Nokia 720, with clearly superior HERE map, despite its modest spec, since I actually love the Window Phone 8 interface and really, it's much cheaper and can do everything that I really use on my Android phone regularly.
After so many years of supporting Android, I gotta admit it's still the most features packed platform available but its energy and resources efficiency may has only gotten worse than before. Only difference is we now have the hardware to support it.

well i for one im not in a rush to switch my sony tell i see all phones of 2013 but as a brain sammy has built the best phone but not body . im a wait and if nothing come out better i might switch my sony for sammy im not a fan boy i could cares less i just want the best. so if this s4 can survive a fall i would trade it loosing my ip57 but it would be worth it, i think but its still early so dont be surprise if you buy and you see better later this year

Pls... need someone to tell me reasons why I shouldnt buy GS4...
Dont tell me its ugly cos d design is not really bad, to me
dont tell me its copycat cos dat sound as an advantage to av all features of other fones in one unit
dont tell me it lags cos all fones does n fraction of a second lag is not too bad.

make slow motion video, not like the one already found on the note 2 but this will be at 1080p!!! And that means PURE SMOOTHNESS when video is slowed down to 24/30FPS from 60FPS!!!! S4 is SHEAR innovation!

It is another cheap plastic product. I have purchased the s3 on March 12, 2013 and the power button was lost on March 15, 2013. I return back to the agent but they said: It is miss use. This is not correct and they charged me 11 US dollars.

Say what you want. Samsung will still be smiling when the sales start moving. Truth is many many MANY people we happy with the previous S phones. Such that pre-orders for the s4 are astounding. So just continue making your senseless noise and we'd still rather listen to the market. The real guys who put their money where they think it's worth. :-)

Ho la la, it seems really that apple and htc udlseres are dying from jalousie, you don't like samsung? OK samsung will not care about you comment, you hate because it's a plastic? OK, dont buy it and btw it's not a plastic it's bicarbonate materials, you say it's ugly? OK it's your opinion, but all these will not stop samsung of being the best and the leader of smart phone, oh yah and now we Sony users are also being more jealous more than other, I never ever see Sony smartphones a without a lag, all Sony phone have lag and freeze. Apple will suicide now from the s4 of being the most powerful phone in the world, oh yah. And the best companies that give the best services to there costumers are samsung and apple, no htc and no Sony, oh oh oh Sony pfffff Sony, pfffff my brother bought an Sony phone, after one year the screen shutdown, he send it to Sony, then Sony bring to him worst than before, pfffff Sony now it challenging the leader of smartphone, forget Sony, and htc are even can't sell like other, they always dream to sell their smartphones like samsung.
