The CPU will be 12 cores, the GPU is said to be 18 cores, RAM is 36 GB.

Majority of desktop apps still utilizing x86-64 architecture. Even if ARM processor catching desktop power, it won't replace desktop without software's support.
(Case in point: M1 iPad which literally has CPU as fast as Macbook but iPadOS limited it's functionality as desktop).
So, in near future, most likely ARM will coexist, not replacing desktop processors.

Hopefully it won't overheat. M1 was promising. M2, not so much.

that's nuts, mobile CPU is getting faster and faster also very efficient too.. it could replace desktop in the future. like cameras on smartphones now and real camera users have decreased.
