I don't understand the logic to this phone and numerous others in the past 2.5 years; specifically to releasing phones that are sub par. For reference, I own a Galaxy S20+ with 128Gb storage, and 12Gb of ram. So let's compare 2 phones with a span of 3 years.
Batteries: 4500mah for both / 25w charge for both
Ram: 6/8 for S23FE and 8/12 for S20+
Storage: 128/256Gb for both
Chipset: Exynos 2200 for S23FE and Snapdragon 865 for S20+
Screen: 6.4 inch, AMOLED 120hz, FHD+ for S23FE & 6.7 inch, AMOLED, 120hz, FHD+ for S20+. (S20+ can do WQHD+ when refresh rate is set to 60hz.)
Now, it would be easy to predict people saying, "Of course it's worse. This is a budget phone"
That is no excuse. It has been 3 years since I got my S20+, and IMO, Samsung phones are lacking.
The A54 is out now, and compared to this rumored phone, it's better.
I think that after releasing the S9 line and S20 line, they realized that they gave too many decent specs, painted themselves into a corner and devolved to save money. I wonder if they hit the spec ceiling.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2023It's just the same pixel counts, the sensor is different. A54 HAS THE SAME SENSOR as S23 range: ISOCELL GN3: 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor, 1.0 μm pixels, f/1.8-aperture lens, PDAF, OIS. Same dimensions, same pixel size, same OIS, same GN3 . Read something somewhere for fuc sake !!!

Even cheaper phones comes with 33W charging (and the charger brick inside the box), but Samsung insist to keep its devices capped at 25W and still call it "fast".

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2023exynos 2200 is around same as SnapDragon 7+ gen 2THAT is the issue. The 7+ Gen 2 is inside 400€ phones, performs the same if not better due to more support from 3rd party devs, drains the battery less and heats up/throttles way less.
You are paying considerably more for a phone with similar and sometimes even inferior specs.
The only specs for this phone that are better than the Poco F5's are the cameras and the build quality.

It's not even about the overall peak performance and efficiency and benchmark numbers. Exynos is shit, period. On my friends motherboard up and went dead just after warranty expired. Galaxy f41 - Chip was Exynos 9611. So the issues with Exynos go beyond merely performance.

25w is terrible for anything with the S23 attached to it. I miss my realme GT2 Pro and I have an Ultra. Do better Samsung.

Still I will never use exynos for a daily driver because of their trash modem. Since the galaxy s6 they still have not fixed issues, which have plagued both exynos and now tensor. They gave the same runaround then as now with their camera flaws, promising updates will fix hardware flaws. A phone which can't reliably connect is a not a phone.
