Apple dominates North America where most people earn 3000usd a month so they don’t care about the price. Not to mention some of their devices can run 6-7 years with a simple battery change.
Samsung now became “hot garbage” with their choices, they remind me of Nokia in the old dumbphone era before it got kicked out of the game, odd shaped impractical phones, bad hardware combination, tryhard marketing gimmicks, no brand value, no services, expensive beyond reasonable.
Pixel went up because some people found out the 7a is cheap and you can install Graphene, Lineage, Calix on them in a simple manner just like dealing with your home printer. There’s a niche for customers who don’t want Google, Microsoft, Facebook spying on them for sure.

Anders, 29 Jul 2023Samsung's shipments fell 37%, Apple's shipments b... moreWhy should Samsung downgrade their phones?

It's time to educate some Apple fanboys (and I'm typing this from an iPhone SE 2022)...

Touch gestures on mobile phones were not invented by Apple. Palm webOS had it in 2009 just like they had wireless charging which iPhone didn't get both until 2017 with the iPhone 8 and X.

Matias Duarte worked for Palm. He helped created the card UI in webOS. He moved to Google in 2010. Android didn't get touch gestures until 2018 or a year after iPhone X came out. But Google didn't really ripoff Apple if Duarte was there. It was Apple ripping off Duarte's own work from Palm released 8 years prior.

By 2011, RIM/BlackBerry also had touch gestures on their tablet, PlayBook. QNX eventually evolved to BB10 for smartphones. Actually, Apple ripped off that webOS card UI more subtly with their Safari app by iOS7 in 2013. When you close tabs, you see a card UI carousel.

iMessage is a BlackBerry Messenger ripoff that we didn't get until iOS5.

Tell me, when did larger displays, wireless charging, fast charging, widgets, a file manager, and PiP come to iOS again? Several years after Android came out. There was no video recorder on iPhone until 3GS. No front camera until iPhone 4. We didn't get the ability to hide apps from the homescreen until iOS14.

It wasn't until iOS14 is when I felt iOS got closer to Android and it's still incapable to add torrent apps or emulators on it out of the box. No MX Player app where you can listen to the movie if screen is turned off. No NewPipe to remove seeing YouTube ads.

                          Before iPhone, other phones had...
                          Removable battery
                          Expandable storage
                          Headphone jack
                          FM radio
                          IR blaster

Only 7 years ago, my LG G5 (Sprint variant) and LG V20 (T-Mobile variant) had all of the above. My PSP which was released 19 years ago has a removable battery, expandable storage, and headphone jack. I just installed a new battery for the PSP 2K in only recently and I think the PSP can outlive all of us. Can still work even if the battery is completely dead.

The more Apple keeps on winning, the more consumers keeps on losing. But their users are so blind. Apple are the biggest con artists in human history.
