BudgetPhoneFinder, 03 Nov 2023Apps are more demanding,But most apps do basically the same thing as 10 years ago. We see more videos in apps before, so I expect a slight increase in hardware requirements, but stuff like YT worked 10 years ago, so something like a SD425 still should've worked fine. Some notablit egregious apps for performance considering that they do include Tinder and the stock settings app (that thing is so slow!)

The OS especially hasn't undergone any groundbreaking changes in how it works in the past 10 years. It got some visual revamps and API changes, so why does it run so much worse on the same hardware as 10 years ago?

How is 16GB even possible with A/B partitions? My system takes up 25 GB alone on my OnePlus 8. Or, is it a rare A slot only device?

          HTC is back?
If so, this is a terrible comeback. 2gb ram and 16gb storage is just not enough even for an entry level device. Performance will be crippled.

I always wonder if these "e-waste" phones could be used like a Raspberry pi with better software (especially the OS). We got by with these specs 10 years ago, why is it not enough now?
