This has to be the most disappointing Xperia phone I've seen in a while. Expensive, 128GB internal storage as the only option, removing the telephoto camera, and now this. I had high hopes with the SD8G2, and I even praised the 10 V for having exceptional battery life.

They sold a lot of low end phones via carriers and MVNOs, but premium phones are more likely to be sold unlocked. Starting around the V40, you could no longer buy unlocked models from LG or a retailer. They lost mindshare even faster than market share, and the rest is history.

But if you meant the overall update (security patches or miscellaneous updates), it will be supported for 3 years, so it ends the same time actually if someone use this phone under 3-year-contract.

Another nail in the Sony Mobile coffin.
I hate to see Sony disappear from the mobile game but they just make poor decisions all of the time that won't appeal to the majority of people. I used to get Xperia all of the time but whenever I did I'd be on here seeing what other manufacturers offer and to be honest I felt ripped off and that my Xperia device was just inferior which it generally was when compared to the majority of other flagships.

Totally unaware it was short as three months!
So my to only visit to an O2 shop I was given the short standard information version by the assistant.
I will definitely follow up on the 5 V handset price.
I may have mistakenly assumed it is £849 divided by contract length which would mean ZERO percent profit on actual handset!
My only visit regarding another handset I didn't breakdown the contract components regarding the ACTUAL HANDSET PRICE WITHIN THE CONTRACT, to SIM free price.
Sorry to all for the multiple smelling pistakes.
I posted this late at night and I didn't get a chance to amend it as the went straight to the moderator!
In my defense "I just Read", writing clearly is a whole new skill set.

Some people are getting confused mistakenly thinking it will only be O2 selling the Sony Xperia 5 V in the UK. Which isn't the case as plenty of other places you can buy it.
