Xiaomi tipped to replace MIUI with MiOS

09 October 2023
It remains to be seen if MiOS will simply be another Android overlay UI or if Xiaomi is actually developing a new mobile operating system.

It's not the ugly named OS on MI as MiOS but actually named HyperOS which is a cool good name suggesting something real better in OS than just name change and that for heavens they ditched that "weird everything MI" moniker

Maybe they will finally get rid of the bloatware?

Xiaomi have some of the best bang for the buck in spec for the dollar, but I just cannot stand MiUI with its bugs. Even on MiUI14 on Android 13, I still find it replacing the custom wallpaper with their default one on reboot/update. Really annoying for something that basic.

It simply shows that due to their thin margins, Xiaomi just don't have enough resources to really optimize their own skin, let alone a new OS.

However, custom skins like MIUI solved this featurelessness issue, however their optimization is down right pathetic. If xiaomi manages to fix that, I wouldn't really mind using MIUI.
But then again they have another issue that they release too much of devices, and now they just cant manage their software part. Thats where Google and Apple shines. Wish other makers too follow them and solve their software once and for all.
