And yes that also means they are packed closer together. Back in the day when you could still see individual pixels on displays, that was because the pixels were much bigger than they are today. Mills, 28 Oct 2023Meta Quest 1 has OLED 90hz but had a 1400p display. Quest 3... moreThe thing is that mobile OLED is less sharp than an LCD of same resolution because of the pentile subpixel arrangement. Not as big of a problem on phones whose resolution rarely exceeds around 1200p in width, but a much bigger problem for VR headsets like this one where the wanted sharpness level is not reached yet. The iPhones with OLED have around 458ppi, which is the same red and blue subpixel resolution as the 326ppi LCDs from before the iPhone X/12.

Vr headsets are like facehuggers but for the eyes.

            Useless

Meta Quest 1 has OLED 90hz but had a 1400p display. Quest 3 has RGB LCD 120hz but has 2200p display.

I'd take the Quest 3 display. 2200p + 120hz? Good deal. But, OLED is pretty sweet.
