I prefer S23 FE. If you wait till 2029 or 2030, you can find 20-30 Dollars for sale used S23 FE, around 6-7 years old. So, you can save 470 Dollars. Best bang for your buck.

Cool seeing samsung made phones now have display submerged in frame . Quite consumer friendly and one can skip putting on back cover

I rather get A73 for better battery life and balanced performance and have same 4 years support for OS update. A73 price is in between a54 and s23 fe

Can I change the pastel color and design of the icons in Samsung phones? It's so girly for me. Until then, I will never buy a Samsung phone if I cannot change the icons. It's so tempting to buy Samsung phones because it easily gets cheap after a few months from launch but I withheld myself.

If you want a Samsung phone then in that price range that be probably best yes.
But in that price range are a lot of other phones that also have same or better performance then A54 and cameras are on par with it and in some cases can even be better but then maybe have worse performance

for $300 vs $400, I'd choose S23FE for the better cameras (and the faster chipset)
but for $300 vs $600, I'd definetaly go with the A54
I'm not sure whether this $400 price is because of black friday or this is the normal price already

Comparing the 2, I'm putting my money on S23 FE for overall performance and camera. Everything else is A54. You do get DeX, reverse and wireless charging in S23 FE (reverse charging is just a party trick). But better battery life and macro camera in A54.
Which one should you get? If you need this: midrange chipset, good enough photos and long battery at 300-450, then A54 is the best of the best in the price bracket. If you need faster speeds (keep in mind GPU throttle), better selfies, premium build and such, then S23 FE is for you. (I'm leaning towards S23 FE because of the build and chipset)
