Nothing bashing but some positive intentions for both of the tech giants i.e Google and Apple. Both companies are best in their own fields. I am user of GS3 but i really respect whatever apple did and i am sure they will do very good in the context of redesigning their OS.

bout time they re designed the whole layout, its dull boring and childlike in today's design, that being said it will be interesting to see how it looks on that small screen, i love customization on my galaxy s4, and have jailbroken my ipda mini because it was so dull, i would like to see some form of decent widgets, for the home screens, but to be honest its compatibility where apple still needs to look at, as well as things like BASIC file management in usb mode, codec support, bluetooth support for non apple computers and accessories, mind i gues that would reduce the sales of itunes downloads if they opened it up, to make the 5s an success they need to address the above, basically the iphone 5s or 6 what ever it gets called needs to be completely redesigned from the ground up, new shape, colours maybe, UI software, hardware, the whole lot to keep competing

If they can install easy to access wifi and bluetooth toggles, that would be good.
A change in appearance is overdue in my opinion, but I'm sure there will be more new features to compliment this.

This move towards black & white could be tied in with Apple's efforts to unite the iPhone screen tech with e-ink technology. Maybe they've succeeded.

At least make some settings easily accesible with a pulldown menu, like network settings, screen brightness.

Jony ives is one the best phone designers around. but he need to sort a new radical design for iphone now or they will sink. not 5s, that looks like the last one.

If Apple is going Black and White in iOS7, they pretty much just copy LG's Prada phone, making the circle go round again. And then they claim LG does not innovate ;)

Apple spend alot of time and resources just for the new icons look, wow impressive. Tim Cook called this a laser focused innovation. With Android it just one click away for a new icon pack. You can make Android phone look like ios 7 with 99cents icon pack, LOL.

Seems like a downgrade to me. Just like windows8 with those tiles. Just some colored rectangles with labels on top. No wonder it is fast. Theres litle to proccess. Personaly I don't like flat UI design. Its boooring. iOS was already geting booring. It has litle or no customisations in terms of UI. Now its going to get flat out boooring and just look like an animated bios, like windows does.
Android tends to do the same but there is the posibility to modify it and many phones have custom UI from manufacturers.
Flat UI desing looks cool but not in the hole UI.
In my oponion flat UI should be cobined with glass/transparent design. Think of transparent glass windows8 tiles and animated backgrownd (like a live walpaper on android or even a video like in dreamscape). That would look cool and make the UI nicer.
But thats just me :D
