Weekly poll results: the nubia Z60 Ultra is promising, but software updates are a concern

07 January 2024
The phone's aggressive pricing and powerful hardware drew a lot of attention, but there are a few flaws too.

I would NEVER buy a flagship phone with less than 4 Android upgrades and i expect those updates to be super quick not what zte is doing dragging their a$$
This isn't 2016 when 1-2 years of updates were enough because phones weren't build to last long and got outdated within a year, now you can keep them for years without needing to upgrade, the S20 from 4 years ago isn't much worse than the S23 and it's even better in multiple aspects

At first I didn't like its rear design, now it really catches my attention! If only they will begin to give the customer more confidence with the updates, it would be a phone to take into account this year

Nubia support went on record that the Z60 Ultra will get 3 major OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches.

Whether or not they actually follow through is yet to be seen of course but a phone with this kind of hardware for hundreds less than my Pixel 8 Pro, nitpicking should be kept to a minimum.

They confirmed Z50 Ultra Android 14 for this month release, so I'm happy

Palle, 07 Jan 2024Got mine on the 30. December. And sold it yesterday. Too mu... moreI would sell it away too if I got it, however it's instead because of the update support. But if you're selling it just because it's heavy, you are definitely high on copium or making a fake story.

The Z60 Ultra is a fantastic phone from the hardware perspective.
But it doesn't have large speakers and a 3,5mm jack, which are big downsides to me.
If ZTE would address their terrible software support or put Pixel Android on their devices, I would highly consider buying one. But with my RedMagic 8 Pro experience, I wouldn't buy a ZTE device any time soon.

HyperionBurn, 07 Jan 2024android gaming phones should ship with a super light androi... more1) the z60 ultra is camera centric, not gaming centric.

                2) nubia phones already come with rather just the bare minimum on the global rom. There isn't even a proper own gallery app, apart of the usual google apps and there is not even a playback progressbar in the notifications on myos 13. No sidebar. No manual charging limit or passthrough (at least on the z50s pro). No call recording because of the lame google dialer. So with all that, it already lacks quite a lot of useful features. They definitely shouldn't be stripped down any further!

I wish they would add all these features, especially regarding the global rom. Amazing devices otherwise

Palle, 07 Jan 2024Got mine on the 30. December. And sold it yesterday. Too mu... morethe 14 Pro Max had a 4323 Mah and weighed 240g, so that was fine?

Palle, 07 Jan 2024Got mine on the 30. December. And sold it yesterday. Too mu... moreif i could handle a 543g, 3cm thick doogee v max with no issues, then theres really no excuse for you to point to the mere 246g weight as a reason for ditching an otherwise fine phone

android gaming phones should ship with a super light android 11 and only get security updates to maximize performance.

Got mine on the 30. December. And sold it yesterday. Too much weight. I mean 246g? Really? Even my Jeans got pulled down. Sorry but with a 5200mAh Battery an a weight of 215g it would have been the perfect Smartphone
