One need to understand ROG is a gaming phone and as such their features are more inclined towards gaming, which are not available on S24, etc. One example will be the screen refresh rate...while ROG offers upto 165HZ, S24 limit itself to 120HZ. And there is ofc the difference in RAM - 24GB to 12GB.

It was going for just around $500 at the time but I chose to not buy it, cause it also had a weak build then. It was only with the 7 that they finally got everything right, but unfortunately they changed the design right after that

It's still a full hd. Even the S24+ is QHD now and both being the same price, the S24+ is obviously better purchase and also comes with a long support

If the ROG 6 didn't have the bend weakness, I would already own a lovely Batman Edition after it hit $600 last year. Or if the ROG 1 had supported VoLTE, I would've owned one for 4 years now at $500 (or $350 depending on my timing). I don't expect them to set the launch price lower than other flagships though, even now that top competitors have maxed out their support game. They remain practically the only flagship line I'm interested in, aside from maybe Sony. No headphone jack, no buy.

Would seriously consider if they come up with an Dimensity 9300 version and have SD slot.

Asus should stick to the gaming phone concept. Because they cannot overtake Samsung software experience in this PRICE range. I am not taking about camera. Because in this field there is no debate. I cannot think more than 800 dollar of this phone.

Asus should have stuck to ROG DNA.

Same ASUS ROG7 grills but with better bass.

Same design language as ROG7 but better cameras.

Same display as ROG7 but with higher resolution ,144Hz (anything more is just gimmick on a mobile device), and better overall quality.

                              Extremely good active cooling solution.

                              Bigger 6500 mAh battery.

Granualar refresh rate control. I personally prefer phones which could lock framerate at 90Hz.

There are better options at this price. Now the ROG isn't a special phone anymore

                                It is what it is

Earlier ROG phones were a niche device so there wasn't a lot of direct competition. This year's ROG however is much different and will be pitted directly against a lot of other phones, flagships including. It'll be hard to beat them all solely with the gaming centric design and software, since that's not all that makes a good overall phone

Asus just has the "gaming phone" trick up it's sleeve but other phones in this price segment easily have great cameras, advanced software and long support, service centre reach, spare parts availability, a wide range accessories, cases etc. ROG phones barely have any of that. They made a big mistake by altering the design and then also increasing price. It'll be a very tough sell

The Pro must not cost any more than $1049, and for the normal one it shouldn't cost any more than $999.

Or don't even get a gaming phone in the first place. Get an all-rounder phone (this is not really close to that), and physical gaming trigger accessories.
