Weekly poll: would you rather have the Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35 or neither?

17 March 2024
Their predecessors rivaled the Galaxy S series for popularity, so these have big shoes to fill. And they do bring some major improvements.

justasmile, 17 Mar 2024A55 and A35 are definitely overpriced. A35 should get a Dim... moreGalaxy A55 is not a chinese phone, it has longer software support, polished UI, and popular brand.

You want cheap phone, go buy chinese phone or cheap knock-off of iphone (nothing phone)

DarlingYext, 18 Mar 2024If it's really that easy to ruin S series' sales ... morein my country (Indonesia) the price of the A55 is the same as the A54 when it was first launched...

my opinion is that in some countries the price of the A55 has gone up, perhaps due to the increase in the currency exchange rate compared to last year when the A54 was launched

I'm strongly interested in the A55's GPU performance. That's going to be the prime factor whether I think it's worth it to go all the way to A55. I'm interested with the 12GB variant too - I run heavy apps like Resilio Sync and YouTube Vanced all the time, as well as gaming, so I might actually use all of that 12GB RAM.

But Rp 6,900,000 is a lot man. I absolutely do need something better than the A14 I currently run, but idk if I won't regret buying the A55.

And I'm not considering the Chinese phones. I just don't want to deal with their BS anymore - for all of its issues, Samsung is good enough that I don't have to deal with too much annoyances for the price they're at.

Better get the S23FE, or just S22. Or even the Moto Edge 40, heck Even the iPhone 12 has a better VFM.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2024Oh come forget about the motherboard problems, that affecte... moreI have used 2 different xiaomi phones for 6 years, both phones had bloated batteries before 2 years of usage, probably would have exploded if i had not change the batteries.

Not to mention, the MIUI was inferior compared to OneUI or iOS.

Never going back using chinese phone again.

I am buying both, A55 for my mother and A35 for my maid.

At this price point people choose
                  OnePlus 12R
                  Vivo V30 Pro

                  but not Exynos :)
Initially it feels good, after a year it shows capability of exynos for heating machine

Neither. Just ditched my Galaxy A72 for Redmi note 13 pro.
Samsung stopped making proper mid-rangers with the removal of 3.5mm jack. Not an option anymore.

None. And I'm speaking from the perspective of giving a recommendation to someone.

Apart from the 5 years of security patch (which is useless for majority of people except if they really want to keep their devices for 5 years or even more), IP rating (which again, any problem related to this will not be covered by the warranty), and Samsung-only feature (Link to Windows maybe), there's nothing really special from both phone. If you really care about software experience, tbh SOME BBK phones and Motorola can gives you a similar comfortable user experience with far better future proofing hardware.

Or if you really need those long and fast software updates, tbh A34 and A54 are still great enough, considering the performance difference is not so far. Or if you don't care about software updates but just want to stay with Samsung, older flagships can gives you some special features that you won't get in A-series, like flagship-level camera ofc.

How about me? Tbh for myself I'm not really interested with those phones that I mentioned before lol. Considering I love small phones and close-to-stock experience, I might just go to a niche route and get a Sharp Aquos Sense8 (even though the processor is not even that great, not sponsored btw), or maybe some second-hand Zenfone 9 (I don't really care about software updates lol, if it still works then why not)

                        Neither. I pick galaxy a34.

Neither. They both don't even supports LTE-A (CA), just reguler LTE. What a joke from samsung. With such prices, they are really bad choice. Even tho they has 5g, but that doesn't mean shit for now because in indonesia where I lived at still have a long way to go until 5g truly well etablished.
