Why get rid 4K OLED if anything lazy Apple and Samsung should upgrade I understand dumping 21:9 aspect ratio anything not 4K Display is low quality in my opinion in 2024.

For those thinking Samsung is better. No, Samsung is just paying everyone around to advertise their phones as superb. There are some many flaws in recent flagship lineups S23/S24 and no one of those "great" YouTube stars is mentioning about it. Samsung Members support is just a joke.
So, S23 base model takes very blurry photos (banana gate), screen is bright but color reproduction is subpar (artificial colors), poor haptics, problem with outgoing calls (sometimes not possible to establish a call), calls being dropped, notification sounds audio drop-outs/stuttering. And so on.
Yes, it's a lovely small phone, but it's not a true flagship experience. Samsung is just cheaping out on everything which is not visible on specs.
And don't get me wrong, I don't complain about things I'm aware after checking specification (like lack of audio jack or lack of SD card slot). I talk about all the areas which you can't just check by looking at the specification. So you buy the device, but then you're bit disappointed.
Sony in my opinion is manufacturing better devices, but they loose the battle because all the reviews and comparisons on web are so unfair and people trust it blindly.

I just wish Sony would go with better SOC in Xperia 10 series, Snap 695 can't even record 4k60, else I would go for it

I was an avid samsung user since the original Galaxy Epic, then moved up to the Note series and have ben using them for the past decade. No, Samsung is not "100 times better". Not even close. Maybe "slightly better" in some aspects, and "slightly worse" in others. I stopped using Samsung when they dropped support for the SD card for the second time, and I am also sick and tired of those STUPID "curved screens"!!! At least Sony still offers an SD card, and doesn't use that insanely STUPID curved screen BS!
And to those talking smack about Sony, my Xperia 1 IV has been pretty good. Did it have a few software bugs? Sure. But overall my experience has been as good as any other Android I've had, and FAR better than any iPhone I've ever had.
I'm going to two years with this one, so I am interested to see what Sony does with the next one. I was really hoping for an update on the Pro with the 1 inch sensor to add wireless charging.

They start off with really good engineering and build quality but then it all goes to shit when it hits the market. Camera problems, microphone problems, thermal problems, and chips with high failure rates. They don't even fix software problems. If a feature wasn't completely finished at release time they'll "fix" it by deleting it later. Any what other phone company literally says their phone is not guaranteed to be compatible with any cellular service? You've tested that it can be a phone, right? No?

I honestly don't know what's going on in the minds of the people who manage Sony's Smartphone sectors because there are so many crazy things like that.
Take a good look! Sony is responsible for approximately 80% of all Camera sectors in the World. To give you an idea, Samsung is currently manufacturing its own camera sets but they still use Sony Technologies and Patents and this is Registered for commercialization.
Sony holds the majority of the audio and video market, being responsible for approximately 70% of this globally, having the best equipment in practically all areas. To get an idea of how comprehensive and strong this brand is. Your Smartphone or practically anything you take apart and open when technology is involved, there's something from Sony in there. When you disassemble an Xbox, which is a rival to Sony, we have the Blu-ray and countless Sony parts inside.
Now you can imagine the size of this company in all sectors. They make money from all sides, some winning or others losing, Sony is winning.
Let's get to the absurd now.
She created the "Mark" Series, Xperia 1, 5 & 10 Mark I, II, III, IV, V and now the new ones.
It has once again become a company that can sell smartphones and be competitive, having its unique smartphones with 21:09 4K screen resolution and up to 240FPS in Motion Blour Technology, having the best screens on the market for content consumption for years and the best screens to use two apps at the same time. Afterwards, they managed to have the best images from Mobile Cameras with the best performance on the market, but using only the Manual Camera Modes and still having the best options for external storage and 3.5 connections and even for HDMI and not having their screens cut or bullet holes being the best choice. Finally, the only thing missing was improvements to Automatic Modes and Artificial Intelligence Systems.
For me, this model with these new drastic changes that will use common market standards, left me completely unsure of what to say about it and think about my next Smartphone of the Future being a Samsung, Google Pixel or another brand.
I have been using Xperia Smartphones since the Sony Ericsson era and I am buying a Sony Xperia 1 Mark V Special Edition with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of Internal Storage for work and content and it will probably be my last if this continues like this.

They literally have the best sensors and some of the best display tech available. Coupled with the headphone jack still being available they could easily make a good camera phone and just make so much money. But...just like Nintendo...they have some really morbidly stupid business decisions.
