Both qualcomm and apple love comparing to failure intel chip laptops, but not amd xd!

Anonymous, 07 May 2024Yes, your point is, you don't have a clue. Qualcom... moreYeah, I don't have a clue. Microsoft does, it's why Windows for ARM is so amazing everyone is raving about it. Oh, wait... 15 years and counting and it's still TRASH. Apple got M series and MacOS for it up and running in actually usable state in around 1 year after public final launch.

We are going to see huge NPU explosion. Lunar Lake, Strix Point and X Elite all will have 45 Tops just for NPU and Panther lake next year will double LNL and so we are looking at 90 Tops. I wonder where it will end.

Pretty sure they'll make this awesome chip with such immense power only to force users to opt for a cloud service. Even if they sell the iPads at a loss, the amount of profit they'll make with a service in just one year would be enough to keep them at the top of the foodchain as the most valuable company. It's all about locking stuff down and then getting users to pay for it. Exactly what Google and Samsung are starting to learn from Apple and whoah won't you look at that their profits are higher. We live in the darkest times fr I wish we went back 10 years and just stopped there

Most people who buy a Pro iPad is just looking for a larger screen than 10 inches. Most people use an iPad for work like spreadsheets, Google Docs, schoolwork, gaming (most games will get crushed anyways by M2 itself) and drawing.

Qualcomm's, Intel's, AMD's and all those are genuinely optimised for industry leading standards like Open AI. But also a raft of other AI coding languages. But your vague hype is obviously better than facts.

Open platforms like Android, Linux or Windows, all known to have strong integration with Open AI and GitHub, or Apple's extremely locked down code? That is indeed a conundrum.

Anonymous, 07 May 2024what is oryonQualcomm's newly launched CPU

Fastest doesn't mean anything if people don't optimise their systems for it. Knowing Apple, they'll try and make certains systems/processes work exclusively on apple silicon or make it really hard to develop AI apps for their devices to begin with.

Just my opinion, 07 May 2024Qualcomm last week: THIS IS THE X elite, comes with the wor... moreJust because it has the fastest numbers on paper, that doesn't really mean anything if Windows has to run on ARM lol. I honestly don't know who Snapdragon X Elite is meant for, really. Apple actually has their own OS specifically tailored for their Series M chipsets to take their full potential. And it absolutely does as proven by actual big numbers in almost every field possible. Qualcomm relies on Microsoft's incompetence to deliver a functioning Windows for ARM seeing how Microsoft is fumbling around with it for over 15 years now. Apple doesn't really have that problem. I think Linux distros on ARM chipsets are a greater possibility and I frankly think Linux might take over the entire range of devices powered by ARM chipsets.

Basic PC NPUs from Nvidia has easily broken into the 40 trillion territory already. This is just another marketing stunt by Apple to hide they're still lagging behind.

Interested in the future benchmarks / sustain between Qualcomm and M4.

One thing that M series is good at is performance per watt and large capacity of ram. That's what makes Mac Studio M2 Ultra a very good chip for LLVM compared to the likes of Nvidia GPU, you get comparable performance at a fraction of the power cost.. not to mention the fan noise.

Now more cpu with nlu coming to the market, can't wait to see the changes.

Add to that, Qualcomm's is compatible with a bunch of languages, likely making it a lot more flexible.

I guess Apple needs a bigger calculator in their next iPad to be able to crunch 2-digit subtraction.

Qualcomm last week: THIS IS THE X elite, comes with the world's fastest NPU for laptops capable of 45 TOPS (trillions of operations per second)

Also Apple this week: The M4 comes with the fastest Neural Engine ever, capable of up to 38 trillion operations per second, faster than the neural processing unit of any AI PC today

LOL. Apple got scarred of Oryon so they quickly pushed M4 out, even with the Mac Studio and Pro still sitting with M2.

I don't get the point of an M4 in an iPad anyway. It still runs the same apps as the cheapest iPad.
