So state your point. Now we can talk, browse a lot more, yes stand-by time went down, but Nokia was still inferior. You can always go back to it, if you want.

this 24+hours horse sht marketing bs has got to stop.

We need a universal test/way of calculating the battery life and every manufactuer should use it (like they boast with Antutu scores lol)

why bother having your own chip if you won't design it yourself

BJRG, 08 May 2024Google never gets the pricing right in IndiaI think they are doing all right (MSRPs are indeed high but the effective prices after all offers are pretty reasonable), given the fact that the phones are presently imported (and therefore suffer a 30% import duty).

The prices are likely to become even more reasonable in the coming months as Pixel phones start being produced locally (there was news earlier that Pixel 8 series will start local production by Q2 2024).

Just to show the impact the import duty has on the pricing, look at the prices of present generation iPhones:

              Iphone 15 - $800 - INR 80,000 (produced locally)
              Iphone 15 Pro - $1000 - INR 1,35,000 (imported)

Given the fact that Google at present is able to price at a multiplier close to 100 despite being hampered by import duty, I would say the prices are understandable.

Anna, 08 May 2024Overpriced by huge margin as usual. INR 53K and INR 60K for... moreThe base model is effectively priced at 40k after the launch offers (9k exchange bonus + 4k Card discount). In addition, if you wish to purchase pixel buds a-series, you can get the same at 1k (as compared to the current price of 4k), so that's another 3k savings. At this price, pixel 8a seems as a decent enough proposition.

For comparison, Pixel 8 is selling at an effective price of 50k. IMO Pixel 8 is still a better buy (as it is a much better package at a small premium), but if someone is really constraint for budget and want a clean OS and good cameras, Pixel 8a does make some sense.

Google should ditch processors from exynos platform. Pixel 4a & 5a were the best phones. Since, migrating to exynos platform processors, they are doing worse.

Pixel 8a priced approximate 21% higher (INR 52999 for 128 GB) than 7a launch price. Too expensive in India. Battery has been advertised as 4404 mAh. Iphone 15 is being sold for 59,999/- but can't understand pricing policy of Google. Except Tensor G3 processor and long software support, everything is same as 7a with higher price.

Those bezels even for a so called budget phone are an eyesore. Not forgetting the poor performance of the tensor chip that brings a host of issues including overheating and poor call quality when making or taking calls.

                      Cr@p job Google

Overpriced by huge margin as usual. INR 53K and INR 60K for 'a' model? They will have to reduce the price by INR 10K, if they really want to sale this in India.

I mean, who buys a pixel at launch price?
4-5 months down the line, with 20-30% off on price for a phone with 6.5 years of support still remaining and an 'awesome' camera, it would be a great deal.

Buying it right now would be naive.
