Considering the vanilla Pixel 8 starts at $699, the new Pixel A seems to make sense again. I'm really surprised Google can maintain the same price tag as before.

Everyone forgets that this is only starting price. In 2 months 480, in 4 months 460 and in 6 under $400. Great decision to offer 256 GB

Carol, 07 May 2024I'd buy a pixel if it would have been more sustainable... morePixels are among the most repairable phones out there, esp. the non-pro models. Plus the price of the spare parts is somewhat reasonable. It's no fairphone, but much better than all chinesium brands.

The 8a is launching at $850 in Australia. The 8 sells for $1,200. I got the 8 on sale for $800 last week. Why would anyone buy the 8a?
Google sticking with 18W rather than 27W charging is an insult. It's 2024. I have the 8 and a 6a, and the difference in charging speed is significant.
Aside from that, you've got GG3, massive bezels and the overly rounded design. The 8a has a plastic back, yet it weighs 1gm more than the 8 with a glass back. The 8a is a massive fail.
