Huawei Kunlun Glass so strong you can use it to hammer nails, keep up US

Great soon they will develop their own chips for PC that can be better than Qualcomm and intel, Huawei makes its possible always, just finished the Harmony OS "HMS" that is better than IOS and GMS. Thats Makes Huawei Stronger, The best Technology Firm of this era.

      Another dirty politic as always.

They should consider all aspects before they start talking about banning which consequences affect to every sides.

Kinda surprising because their chip in chinese product mean it is easier for US to spy and hack on them. Arguably it is election year and lobby money is very important for the short term, for long term we can only expect the key technology is no longer monopolized and more countries can made decent chip to compete in the market.

loko, 09 May 2024> US was considering a ban on Lenovo products just last... moreThey considered the ban on TikTok as well and look where that headed. The farther they fall behind, the more Chinese companies they're going to ban. Though it has never occurred to them to develop better products and compete harder.

it doesn't matter what is considered, only actions matter. Considered and not done - means it was assessed and determined to cause more problems for US market which is the opposite of your point.

Anonymous, 09 May 2024Both parties are at loss. Huawei will be in trouble immedi... moreAnd chinese phone oems and even asus changing to mediatek with mediatek catching up in modem and isp department and then there's samsung's and apple's deal with qualcomm expiring, with samsung's modem catching up too and apple probably switching to mediatek or samsung(we have already seen apple choosing boe over samsung on 5$ difference for SE4. Difference for Qualcomm modems is much bigger) and cdma shutdown in china. Google isn't going to use qualcomm modem, they will probably use mediatek or samsung modems and that probably leaves japanese phone oems and htc probably.

PKC, 09 May 2024Need to understand why so many countries has problems with ... moreCan you continue that 'etc' of countries? China has better relations with most countries in the world. Much better than the US which has decided to weaponise technology in detriment to its own semiconductor interests and those of sovereign nations, many of which are so-called allies.

The US has not been able to compete. Once it realised how important 5G would be to the world economy and that it had basically no influence over major technology trends (EVs included) and that China was on track to overtake the US, it chose to stop 'playing' and destroy the board. National security had nothing to do with anything.

In reality, these moves have pushed China to accelerate its (already declared) 2025 plans. We are seeing the results even now. De-dollarisation. De-Americanisation and evermore Chinese self reliance.

Once China is competitive across the semi conductor board I can guarantee you Qualcomm, Nvidia, Intel, AMD will lose their remaining Chinese clients. In absolute numbers they represent the biggest customers of US companies. What then? Losing Huawei has cost the US around 50 billion dollars over the last few years. Its companies need revenues to plough back into R&D.

The 'West' represents around 12% of the world's population. The rest (Latin America, Africa, Asia. etc) is where the future will be and China's BRI and Digital Silk Road are already there.

This US move is a bullet to the head. It just hasn't hit yet. And its not the first either. Blame Trump for this mess. And Biden for making it worse.
