LucasN82, 11 May 2024I say at the beginning that 1V telephoto is only good in sh... moreMy very first comment on this article was about its lens performance with focus set to infinity (which is why I was referring to GSMArena's samples), where the entire frame needs to be evenly in focus - Any lens could give you an illusion of being sharp when focusing very up close with a shallow depth of field as long as the microcontrast isn't too low because there would be only one point in the entire frame that actually needs to be in focus.

    Currently, I'm commenting with the Fu*** Pixel 8 Pro. Since 2012, I've tested all phone models, but none have been Sony. Although I'm disappointed that the screen dimensions are going to change, I'm still the first to get it.

Your device is missing tons of stuff discussed here despite having the "same" main cam sensor. Well actually it's not even the same sensor as found on M3 and M4 cause those two got the revision versions.

        Making fast responsive real time smooth gui is not that easy task and requires huge optimized kernel drivers and dedicated hardware. And probably some others nkn disclosed tricks.

        I.e Xiaomi and Sony even flagship sttuter hicup and lags. Where as Samsung smooth, moto also ( even my old SD 480 was running relatively smoothly)

        Also I still think their 120-200w charger is a funky hazard Bomb.and all the shady underlying 'services' processes and hard-coded ads and spyi call home. No single brand is clean about that, but the foxconn's chino-rpc is really the worse by far. Just try ADB and check yourself, and you'll just had scratched the surface then.

They won't ever accept a simple fact that good camera hardware doesn't equal good photos if the camera software is trash. I still like my Xperia 5.2 for features like SD card slot and notification LED, but holy smokes the software (in general, not just camera) is an absolute piece of sh*t.

                              Apple, Google and Samsung overprocess their photos AND have settled for inferior hardware whereas Chinese phones give great hardware and a natural photographic look. Although, Apple and Google make some killer photography phones for most people, I'll agree on that.

                              Anyways, my main point is Sony supplies these manufacturers with the sensors that are without a doubt better in terms of performance. Though as you said ergonomics might be a concern, I think Sony's just cheaping out like Apple, Samsung and Google and that's sad. I remember when Sony was like one of the greats overall with the 1 II. The best Sony phone, for me at least.

                                  Exactly what Juan's video focused on. You're just warped up in numbers. Look at the actual difference in the video. They are so minute you might even be looking at sensor to sensor variation or metering differences.

                                  Who cares? I could give the iPhone SE a great review, someone else could give the Samsung A14 the "camera of the year" award, why would that matter though?

                                  Look at the samples yourself, compare them and think for yourself. You seem to just listen to whatever someone else says and follow it blindly, based on these statements.

                                  Idk which reviews you looked at for the Find X7 Ultra vs the Oneplus 12, they have a similar "style" but they are vastly different. It's like comparing an iPhone 12 Pro to the iPhone 15 Pro. The Oppo has a separate processing chip called the marisilicon or something iirc. And their pipelines are more optimized than Oneplus. Add the bigger sensors on top of that and you get photos similar in look but different in everything that matters.

                                  And for the Vivo video, I only found one Indian guy's video and the video is in 1080p60 so details are gonna be scrubbed. Regardless, look at the ISO and the shutter speed. The X100 pro takes photos faster. So it has a bigger sensor that allows higher dynamic range and less noise AND takes photos faster with a lower ISO. What that means is, Vivo's chip is gonna be doing less of the work and you'll see less artificial photos. Besides, the X100 has the V2 chip if the X100s is gonna have the V2 chip as well and the X100 Pro has the V3 chip so processing is likely going to be superior overall.

                                  Btw I've read the article and seen comparisons. The main thing is that it changes stuff up but only slightly. The claims that a 1/1.43" sensor can give 1 inch sensor like photos is just marketing bs, that's all. I'm not saying the stacked sensor is not better than normal one, I'm just saying it's overhyped.

                                      I am curious which brand will try what Sony does! ;)
