17 May 2024
The phone is just like the Note 12R but with a slightly different design on the back.

Dropping bootloader unlock support was a really bad decision. Most people buy a xiaomi only because it provides really good hardware (at least on-paper) for the quoted price. Many of them switch from miui to custom roms sooner or later (because miui sucks). Now that that's not an option anymore, a large faction isn't going to buy it anymore.

Just wait and watch it's downfall hereafter.

If this is Fairphone, the updated 120Hz screen, the new 8MP front camera, and the new battery would sell as spare part upgrades. Remember the updated 48MP rear camera for the Fairphone 3+? If you have the normal Fairphone 3, you can buy that new rear camera sensor as a spare part and manually upgrade it yourself. Times like this made me truly appreciate Fairphone's approach to longevity and sustainability. There's no point making a new phone with identical hardware to its predecessor.

Furkan, 17 May 2024But I choose Xiaomi than Oneplus 😉😉😉Xiaomi is doomed to lose a lot of it's audience, due to strict bootloader unlocking restrictions imposed by hyperos. At least for me, xiaomi isn't an option anymore due to the this very reason.

It's 2024 and we have companies like Apple defending 128gb storage. Just like the days of iphone 4 fanboys defending 16gb storage. Imagine spending so much on a phone with top end cameras but you babysit your storage to accommodate only select pictures, videos, apps etc.
Either they forgot updates will eat the storage or that they'll upgrade anyway so they won't notice.

Redmi pays companies like Longcheer, Huaqin and Wingtech to design and manufacture them and then stick their logo on them. Many other brands also use the ODM model for budget phones and midrangers so it's not really surprising that they are very similar as it's likely to be the same ODM companies designing many of them
