Lot of people trolling here. To what I get, that Google is targeting the common man who prefer a decent specs problem-free phone at a low price to serve their daily needs. For that this is IDEAL.
Also, people must remember that Google announced that Android 5.0 will be optimized for low specs devices (Although there is no issue for Android on High spec devices, presently low spec devices do not run android+OEM's skin very smoothly). This phone is definitely an experiment to see how low end devices perform with Android 4.3 now & later when it shall be updated to 5.0. Its definitely not a flagship device but Google has optimized it to work better with Dual core. this device shall be launched at around $250-350 which is the BEST for the needs of millions out there. Besides no other phones are available at this price with Dual-core coupled with 2GB RAM & 10MP camera.

Musti, 20 Jul 2013Dual core ???? Complete disappointment ... Why, because you must have octa core smartphone to be cool? Everyone now that android is running smoothly on dual core cpu and even 1 GB ram. (i9100) and even Google said that next android will be running perfectly on 512 MB device. Moto X will be really nice phone with this spec and with good price. for people like you ther's phones like Galaxy S4 - very powerful and very expensive.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2013Stupid? lol You're bitter, more like. This is meant to b... moreI don't think this is an overall mid-range phone, you are a bit young if you are not appreciating this. I believe they have optimized it well enough that it will run like a quad core 1.7 with Adreno 320. The only mid-range feel to it is it 720p resolution. Its construction and design are top-notch. I do hope it has a big battery though. 12GB internal for us to use is great, if we can get expandable storage. Most phones don't even give 16GB, and some have expandable while others don't. Doesn't make them mid-range.

How is 10.5 MP mid-range? What if it has the greatest picture quality so far? We don't know! the quality could be awesome, great, average, or bad. We'll find out soon. I don't care much for 13MP! the file size is huge and I don't like the aspect ratio, and the quality isn't as good of the recent phones. I care for quality but as long as it's 8MP and higher. Unless they can get a beautiful 13, 16, or 20MP out (let's hope the 20MP Honami is stellar) then raising MP is not wise. The S4 does have a better quality image than the S3 but it's not there yet like the Lumia 1020 (which has a wonderful IQ).

This is meant to be Motorola's and Google's FLAGSHIP phone. They should have installed quad or octa CPU, killer GPU, 1080p AMOLED display, more internal memory, and bigger battery. Instead, they went with mid-range dual core, 720p display, low memory, average megapixel camera. The Galaxy S4 blows this out of the water with better hardware and more software features as standard.

May well be my next phone as my current one is falling apart. Not overly keen on the look of it though. Prefer the sharper edges of the previous RAZR handsets. If u can pick it up for around £250 a few weeks after launch I'll be happy.

AnonD-166796, 20 Jul 2013Yea I kinda agree with some comments. When months ago we we... moreFeel same with these so called MINI versions of these devices they are just midrange smartphones.

Ive noticed this trend of offering 2GB RAM and wondering if its due to chrome...I used Chrome for a while on laptop and it sucked up massive amounts of RAM..Unless RAM is becoming cheaper so they are adopting it or they want to be computer like so offer more RAM for bigger future desktop type apps or more apps open at once I don't know..

I find it hard to believe in 2009 my laptop ran Windows 7 and had 512MB RAM yet these smartphone O/S are now at 2GB or is it just Android needing this? The more RAM banks you activate and faster it is the more battery you use.

Anyhow its just another boring slab nothing of interest after all the hype.
