Flexible is one thing, but curved just means it won't fit well into my pocket.

Gimmick or not, full flexability won' t be acheaved until all parts can become flexible. And that is still a long way off. Just like when Sony Eicsson launched its see through screen phone, never saw one so we may not see these.

I hope customers and manufacturers keep in mind that these unbreakable/shatter-proof screens can still be scratched, likely they are easier to scratch due to the softer (flexible) outermost surface.
You'll still want a screen protector, and screens that are too bent/concave/convex or have their edges too sloped have a very hard time keeping screen protectors in place.
I hope screen protectors will remain an option.

Please, could someone explain me what is the meaning and purpose of a curved phone? Why would one need it? What are its advantages? They consider the camera hump of Lumia 1020 a big disadvantage for not being able to lay still on a flat surface, and now they are making a form factor that is frustrating at best. Good luck.

One of my favourite smartphones is based on a curved design(if you call a screen only phone design)the Samsung Nexus S.

So basically it's going to be a bigger pain in the as* to carry around in your pocket. Makes total sense. Good luck with wasting your money designing these when no one is going to buy them.

A little curve screen is welcome for showoff purpose for some but more importantly unbreakable display will be a breakthrough . Beside samsung should patents the icurve before icrap sue them later .

TheNeighbor, 02 Oct 2013Samsung showed a prototype with the screen tapering to the ... morei know what you mean but i think what is happening is for them to bring it out the lab so to speak..they have these working prototypes but need to fully test them for longevity and make sure they are robust enough to release to public..everytime i see these bendy screens the person showcasing it is very carefull ,they need to strengthen them up so they last in real life situations.
