Microsof... moreBasing your business model on selling a product only that gets made by a contract packaging factory to a small and dwindling market segment is fraught with danger. Microsoft own 95% of world operating system market and have done do since the 70's. That's why Cook is worried and recently questioned if Apple is heading in the correct direction with maintaining a long term profit replicating business that is sustainable. Business savvy Apple shareholders are getting out. You can't base your future on a brand that someone else makes for you.
Samsung is posied to overtake Apple in net asset worth plus profitability in the next year. They own factories, land, machinery, t rucks, make LCD screens in partnership with Sony and on-sell to mobile brands including Apple; as well as make and sell their own market leader mobiles to all market segments, TV's, washing machines, fridges, laptops, PC's, toasters, etc etc etc and a million other consumers products. They have assets and their own cash in the bank.
Beware the North Koreans...just look at where Hyundai is today!

I am a sales rep and that's why iPhone is frustrating, not fully compatible with MS Exchange and not relevant to business. Does nice arty stuff though...if that's what you need. My Android can do everything an iPhone can; and then heaps more.

Also, what does HTC One's quality have to do with marketshare? It is arguably the best aesthetically designed handset on the market now, but that doesn't seem to be translating into sales.
That other guy has a point. When you bring up Android global marketshare, there are so many low cost Android alternatives and manufacturers that operate in market segments that Apple does not target or operate in. Either way you cut it though, 17% of the global smartphone market belonging to a single company is impressive. Whereas for Android that is shared by Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, Sony, Micromax, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo,Sharp, Panasonic, Pantech, and on and on and on.

Watch the iPhone 5s outsell the already 7-month old SGS4 in just 3 months time. Meanwhile, HTC has just recently been caught again infringing on Nokia's technology patents.

I have nothing against Apple products...good quality but you pay through the nose for them and they are frustrating to use, boring and I don't want to be contollef by Cupertino sheep herders.

If my HTC had a shiny Apple logo on it, I would by it. Next contract upgrade...I pick the best mobile my hard earned will get. No default fallback purchase for me thanks.Apple has to meet the market and lift it's game or it will become irrelevant. Swarmyy advertising gimmicks only get you so far before people wise up.

Most of iphones are sold in US because the price are so cheap. You can get a iPhone 5s and 5c for $550 and $450 respectively for off contract price. Even their macbooks are cheaper than competitors. You can find Apple products in most bargain stores like Walmart, Target, K-mart, Costco. You don't get any rich status for using iPhone in US. Its so common, nothing special about it. People who living on welfare can buy iPhone for either free or $50.

Also dropbox works like file manager to me, so i dont see where i would need file explorer? I have never needed file manager because i already can do same things, just different way.

Amusement parks, restaurants, video game releases, Harry Potter books, etc. If it's their passion, who are you to judge them. You should be looking at some of the Android fanboys here who judge a person's entire self worth based on something as simple as a phone. If they are willing to pass judgement and dismiss a human being based on something as superficial as a phone purchase who knows what other criteria (race, gender, nationality), they use to be discriminatory.
