There is nothing wrong in copying other good features. Infact if innovations we're stick to one company they get rusty and not more improvements will be seen.
Examples: 1. Imagine the first company who made touch screen if they restricted others to copy we wouldn't saw apple in the market.
2. Bluetooth , NFC , camera , wifi, and list goes on only innovations are not good but they need to push the technology further for improvemts, that's where we can get better designs and better features,
3.some features we see android copied and some we can see apple copied from android. Example is lock screen features and pull up quick settings from iOS 7.
Another thing
Who copies what doesn't matter for the end user, being end user me and most people like me will buy the phone on personal preference, and suitable pocket and cost, then I might spend 1100 for I phone sone one will spend 600 for another android it's all personal choice,
I like big screen like Samsung but I don't like outer shell and user interface of samsung. Also I like iOS for its performance and apple camera but apple stick with small screen and old features which I don't like. Both things almost came in htc one the build quality outside is fantastic screen size and quality is perfect. But they got camera which is below average, it's good for low light but not with the normal light,
Reason for telling these things
Because of using some of the other invented features technology going on par and also quality is getting better due to the competition, and prices are still staying average . And we are getting better technology improved features every year.
For me
Next year if I phone brings screen size upto 4.7" I buy iPhone, or if htc upgrade camera for atleast 8mp with increased processing power and battery life I will go with htc , if both these two doesn' t bring their best earlier than samsung s5 which hopefully will have high quality build then wil buy samsung.

Yeah...Samsung...keep going....Copy all the technology around the world....Smartwatch from Sony..Water Proof on fail S IV Active...now what?? S V with Water Proof???com'on don't you have other idea????Apple launch 64bit processor..Samsung fan said it's useless..now Samsung is going to Launch their own 64Bit Processor soon..any words??...Sony with Waterproof and Dustproof..no one cares...Samsung with Waterproof...WOW WTF..WATERPROOF on SAMSUNG...keep do it SAMSUNG...(I was suppose to be a Samsung Fan before..but after I learn more about the Smartphone around the world...then I will never support SAMSUNG's Mobile Device anymore..)

Bus has big sticker ad "Samsung"
Side street poster "Samsung"
Everywhere "Samsung"
So why did they name it GALAXY S and F?
Those S! are all over the place. What the F!

I am samsung user.........
I saw 1 thing in samsung that samsung copies many ideas from other companies .that is big example is note 3 's wrist watch....from sony and now waterproof feature....plz stops making such boring body looks.

Samsung makes millions of handsets, they can't even put metal/aluminium in phones bcoz they can't make up with the manufacturing speed. I don't how they are gonna make it waterproof too ,which will require extra expertise.... I think its just a rumor.

And you'll also need to pickup a set of Bluetooth headphones to keep from ruining the 3.5jack's rubber plug on the Sony.. which is sad for me because sometimes I like using my phone while it charges (basically impossible with a wireless charger) and I love my headphones, but don't think they offer a Bluetooth version. :(
A plugged phone just holds back a lot of standard convenience.

FACT: Samsung follows a very logical naming pattern with the S-series e.g. S, S2, S3, S4... S5.

When S3 was to compete with iphone 4s and S4 was to compete with iphone 5.
Well, why not try to do some research where did Apple stole their names "Apple" and "iphone" from and got away with it.
I remember them getting sued in Mexico and China for using the names. How embarassing...LOL!

If it cannot survive a simple droptest then it is not really "ruggedized"!
S5 definetly needs Optical Image Stabilization, OIS, to be able to compete!
