More PR FUD from Apple. Ever notice that Apple never gives the exact information when it comes to bad news?

Is that a very limited big number or very limited small number?

They know exactly how many phones have this problem, so why not come out and say it?

lol...they should re-check their 64bit stuff maybe the problem

harlekkin, 30 Oct 2013What are you on about? Say the number is 10,000 devices... moreYup but in manufacturing we calculate in ppm(part per million). Normally we will target around 5 ppm maximum. So in your case Apple would have 500 ppm. Which is astonishingly really bad.

[deleted post]What are you on about?

Say the number is 10,000 devices that are affected and let's assume we now have 20,000,000 devices in circulation - you do the maths:

                            0.0005%

That is indeed a small number. Statistically insignificant.

It is commendable that Apple is reaching out to those that are affected and are offering them replacements. That's still quite a bit of effort for a company to do, but they are doing the right thing which is great.

Good thing they didn't say that you're not charging it properly. Apple is changing for the good, best example of offering Mavericks as a free upgrade and now this.
