AnonD-202220, 01 Nov 2013I just hope the manufacturers go through with updating.
Li... moreI think the main problem to that is the manufacturers of the SoC of those phones. TI is no more, the Hummingbird that equips Nexus S is long past any support from Samsung. No drivers, old kernel. Old kernel, old drivers and newest Android will not be exactly compatible without a lot of work.
At least the Nexus line has one of the biggest development communities. :)

Like the Galaxy Nexus it just disappointing that Google is trying to encourage this and is not updating it. I feel to set an example they should update atleast the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus.

cheebc, 01 Nov 2013well I dont think sony, or any mobile manufacturer want to ... moreI doubt it to, just read about XU/Sola, which is far from being real.
If it comes, it will be welcome, if not oh well, there are quite a good JB ROMs out there.
As I said, only time will tell.

If my predictions are correct. By 2014 will only 4.4 be available to all manufacturers. And by that time. It will also take 2 months for a 64 bit apk game to be released on android platform. How will android cope up with ios in terms of app production rate if it has a 1000 app gap?
