"THEORETICALLY", old model phones can be upgraded to kitkat, but the real problem is, is the phone manufacturer want to provide the update for those old, or even obsolete phones?
nowadays the phone get outdated so fast, thousands of new phones come out every year, lets face it, don't expect the phone maker will keep updating your phone for a life time.

jigo, 01 Nov 2013Will all 2012 Xperia get this OS update too? thanks..I don't think so, 2013 models will surely get an update up to at least 4.3, but 2012 model, sorry no.
same to the 2013 models as well, when it comes to 2014 & new model comes out, 2013 model wont get any update anymore....

Adrian, 01 Nov 2013i have 1 question here, since Google says that 4.4 is optim... moreDevices which are only about a year old and lesser with 512mb of ram are the ones that are most likelyto be updated. But for me since I own xperia v I do hope they ditch the 4.2 or 4.3 and go straight to 4.4 instead.

This is kinda exciting for my siblings and I. Just who amongst the three of us will get the KitKat first? They both have the 2012 version of the Nexus 7 while I have the recent one. Fun to see who will get it first :)
