ms should make wp+symbian without restrictions.if we want restriction there is iphone.but dont add ads on core apps(android) and less ads on store apps.may half nokia rise soon.dont be greedy and lazy ms.

Look the bottom line is this, if being able to customize you UI is what's important to you then by all means get an android phone, but if you're like me and you don't care about trivial stuff like that then choose you OS based on other more important criteria, and stop bitching nobody is trying to force you to buy a WP8 device, you can now go and flash a new custom ROM into your android device to see if it'll stop lagging and crashing.

Only thing you can change is Start up screen and the colors of icons.

No flash again? no deal. I still believe Nokia 610 was the best budget smartphone if you don't mind using WP 7.5

I always wonder, if you don't like something, or are not interested in something, why you bother to enter the post, and write a comment? I don't like iPhone, so when there's a post about it i don't even bother to enter. Kids, get a job, read spec and different articles about the subject and then come back to comment.

Android by design is a big resource hog, no matter how much they try to improve and optimize it. Unless they get rid of the virtual machine on Android, which will likely never happen, then it will continue to be a resource hog.
Google claims they’ve “optimized” Android to run well with devices with 512MB RAM. Claiming is one thing, actually making it a reality is another. There are already reports of fairly high-spec Android hardware not getting Android 4.4 or getting crippled versions of it. The Nexus 10 tablet apparently is getting 4.4 with translucency effects disabled. The Galaxy Nexus will not get 4.4 at all. So already these are troubling signs for Android 4.4.
Android still lags on the Galaxy S4 and Note 3, so guaranteed Android will lag on the low end devices, even with the 4.4 improvements.
Nokia and Microsoft have huge potential to dominate the low end market with Windows Phone in the future.

After having an iphone 3s and a nexus s I would have to say for the prICE ($100) my nokia 521 is by far the best i have used. I wanted to try nokia phone again and love it and planing to buy a 1520. ;)

Windows Phone UI won design awards before. Something that Android never won. People that said metro UI is ugly are those have never touched Windows Phone before.

maybe the higher end android are better than wp8 but mid range phones with android are pretty bad. maybe KitKat helps new mid range droids but we have been hearing this stuff from long time. every update reducing lag but still android is lagging delaying and screen getting stuck. force stop the apps. sometimes screen stops responding. all this comes from my experience with galaxy s2, Sony neo v, galaxy y and y duos and nexus 7 2013.
Windows phone seems very boring on paper. live tiles don't sound interesting. but after using lumia 820 and now 1020 I like the live tile design. wp have some app crashes too but way less than android. wp are so smooth, maybe more smoother than iPhone. but yea I have only used some1 else's lumia 510 so m not sure if mid rangers give same experience.
I am using smart phones since long and now I m not as interested in apps as I used to be before. no one uses most of apps on their phones. most ppl use Facebook app(I use it rarley) skype or viber or whatsapp . youtube PDF reader and little bit of internet. calendar organiser or notes. that's most of it. I play some games when waiting or getting bored. but if I m at home I play on my Xbox or PC.
but yea sometimes I want to surf in millions of wpps and that's why I got nexus 7. in the end I like both wp8 and android. wp8 is smooth and beautiful and android have many possibilities and lots of intrestings apps. I would keep both of them and can't give either away.

Yes,Lumia520 too has a good quality hardware but without " system file manager" made huge drawback for its users.
.....public loss interest not on Nokia but towards the current restricted/inmatured WdP8 OS.

Looks like a good competition for Samsung. Hope the specs are improved over the 520. If so, count on a good year for Microsoft.
