How about improving the software optimization? They just keep cramming in specs and features and most of the time don't even bother if the said feature is half baked and only put there to draw interest (not to mention it bogs down the device). The chipset and screen are wasted if the software is clumsy or stutters a lot and the UI looks bad. And invest on much better batteries.

AnonD-46153, 07 Nov 2013it is not like that... apple and snapdragon got arm chips m... moreYou just assume that Apple is developing their own CPU's while ARM was working hard this year with TSMC to tape out the first 64 bit CPU core designed for mobile phones everyone was saying even on this site that that CPU will power the next iPhone, and guess what it looks like Apple did got the first 64 bit ARM core working on their devices.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2013I see why Samsung wants to develop their 64 bit CPUs in hou... moreit is not like that... apple and snapdragon got arm chips made with their own little twist of improvements... a trend which now samsung says it will follow... the apple chip is not pure arm design... i am sure samsung will do the same as pure arm chips were faster till exynos 4 after the snapdragon s4 pro it has changed...

Phone companies should focus on software development, efficiently utilizing quad core processors better, developing better batteries and actually being innovative instead of talking about hexacore processors and 6000ppi displays that can't be noticed by the eye.

Honestly, I think this is not worth the R&D, these are marketing numbers now.
For most eyes, 300ppi is really good and the 440ppi of the 5" Android flagships is really nice and sharp, overkill. On sub-4.5 inch devices, 720p is fine too and delivers 350 and more ppi.
I'd rather see the R&D go into battery life

Current phone displays are fine to be honest, its only a phone. In this area, i do wonder if sometimes there getting a little overly complex with features . . as a phone goes.I enjoy the nice looking hardware too but reading this i have to say i do admire the incredible Technology advances being accomplished. Incredible really. Tablets and Lap Tops will further advance.. Coolio..

More pixel density might sound better but I already find the Galaxy S4 pixel density of 441 ppi to be amazing.

I see why Samsung wants to develop their 64 bit CPUs in house and not rely entirely on ARM's own cores, since it smells fishy how Apple somehow gets faster ARM cores while others get slower ARM cores.
ARM might provide Apple with better cores while giving others the slower ones as it happened with the 64 bit CPU's ARM seemed to provide Apple an working 64 bit core while others had to wait more for it.

I hope in 2014 samsung understand couple of things and solve them:
1 - Accessing online radio doesn't mean we don't need fm radio anymore so bring back our old friend
2 - We don't like to choose from exynos and snapdragon variant of the same device because of the lack of rom support and additions on snapdragon ones so release it worldwide with the same chipset
3 - Exynos is good chipset but it lacks of 4G LTE support as well as 4K video recording so bring them with Exynos 6 (other good stuff as well)
4 - Release the source codes of exynos 6 and support the developers when your exynos devices don't get enough support they mean nothing to us
5 - And finally you should make touchwiz more light it is just a deadweight most of the times
