If samsung wants to wrapup the mobile devices market that's understandable ( although thats aiming too high ) but it has to be seen that if these curvy things are usable for reading for long or they cause too much eye strain. No use of these doubtfully fancy devices if they are not very useable. One fabulous feature of these would be that they would be unbreakable ( I hope ).

I see more sense in the Galaxy Round than this one.

Here are my arguments about Round:
1- The arch of the phone fits to the arch of the palm, so the big phone curved feels smaller in the hand, than the same size flat one.
2-Easier to rich the corners of the screen, that come closer to the thumb.
3- Easyer for the pocket, than same same size big phones, because the edges don't pull out the pockets like the big flat phones. Much more pocketable , compare with same size (big)flat device..
4-Dropping "on screen" on the floor or ground , doesn't hit flat screen, but only the edges of the frame.- So, more unbreakable display.
5-Falling from high level, the aerodynamics force the phone to fall mostly on the back.
6-According to Display Mate, Round has less reflective screen.(check it out on Google)

samsung and LG doing lame and unwanted things!

At the moment there is probably not much point in this except for appearance.

Ultimately this technology will lead to edge to edge displays and then probably onto folding/rolling devices but that is still a fair way down the track.

Samsung should be congratulated for spending billions on R&D.

Wow another example of copying technology by Samsung. Actually this type of curved screen are seen only by Sony Trinitron lagendery TV's (the times when Samsung lg don't have enough money for r&d to make TVs) then flat TVs era comes then Taft LCD no Samsung have no future proof innovation so the turned back technology to the coast times. Sir Mr Samsung people are not foolish.if some one holding a smart phone den they must see direct screen perpendicular direction lol.not in angles lying your phone and see through the bottom or by standing back to the phone and wanted to operate. if the person is not mad.
