Samsung excels at the best package and still takes the lead in a couple categories.
Screen is hands down dominated by Samsung.
Faster chips, memory/nand chips, ram. Samsung. 70% of the worlds smartphones use Samsung chips. Even other products like Sandisk memory cards are Samsung internals. Need we mention Iphones, Ipods, Ipads, and Macbooks? Even Macbrook retina displays. Once Samsung stopped making them forums were filled with complaints.
The offer fastest chips, best displays, most functions and features, best cameras aside from Nokia. Even make better use of Sony's sensor...And before you cry Z1...Galaxy Camera.
They lead in ergonomics. Always have removable battery and sd slot. Even on their water proof version. Now that was cool.It was plastic with removable battery and still had flash. And their devices are still generally thinner.
And nothing can top the Note 3. And even the S600 version of the S4 still has a better packaged deal than most of the newer S800 devices just for the above reasons.

And Design is entirely preference...Sony to me only looks good from the back with it's big bricky design.
Nokia is genrelly very great with camera, but for some reason their 20mp PureView with OIS was nearly beaten by Samsung's 13mp, no pureview, no OIS.
Samsung may not be the top in ever category, but they are very high up there and offer more than anyone.

thankfully not many are like you, which why samsung is being used by what? atleast half of the worlds smartphones user population
each of the brands you mentioned Excel at one features but really sucks at others.
Galaxy Lineup doing great at all that.. even at battery, where others really sucks

stop insulting samsung. Samsung smartphones have the best cameras (htc ultrapixel sucks), best battery life, removable battery (lg,htc,google does not), expandable memory. Let alone iphones.

Samsung's been always doing that, throwing every g... morenoobness personified... samsung has among the best battery times in smartphones... htc and lg etc all suffer from bad battery timings are only now started to compete a bit in this category with a single phone maybe... those features might be crappy for you but they still put out better battery timings compared to almost anyone around...

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2014samsung realized s. amoled is sucks!amoled is the best out of every display by far... it can adapt to be as good as others, where it shorts fall... but the others cannot adapt to be as good as amoled no matter what... and it is preference anyways, so lcd or ips and your opinion suck for me

Given Samsung likes to use it's own parts for their devices. I highly doubt that Sharp will be making displays for Samsung anytime soon
And I like AMOLED it makes the screen little more saturated than others, but I guess thats more about how they calibrate the display
