Holy crap, that display is almost as big as the original Note's. I wonder if they will really go with 5.25"? 5" for the Galaxy S4 made sense, because they did it without making the phone bigger, but it seems like 5.25" would start getting a little too close to the Note lineup.

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2014samsung realized s. amoled is sucks!I just read that on Reuters posted 2nd January. They had shrinking sales margins on there OLED displays. They need to sale more AMOLED displays to other companies to make it profitable. Another great display manufacture up there with sharp and LG is japan display industries (JDI).

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2014dont tell me sharp display its going to 3g model, and amoled... moreNo, the report says it needs to free up production line for the flexible AMOLED and meet production demand for the S5. They would of done that after the product came out like the rumoured Note 3 lite. But we will have to wait and see in February what happens.

It's actually a good idea using Sharp 2K display. Its future proofed for 2K content, they can get a return of profit of investment when they bought 3% share and hopefully use less battery consumption then the AMOLED display and needs to free up production lines for other products. If Samsung wants to go down this route so be it. Its NOT up to us to criticize what path they choose, its down to technical, prodution and cost issues and it might turn out to better display then we thought. Just give Sharp and Samsung a chance. Its GOOD thing, Not a bad thing. I say GO SAMSUNG!!

Samsung's been always doing that, throwing every g... moreAfter 18 months, my SGS3 still lasts 3.5 days on average, up to 4.5 in stand-by. I have all enabled all the features you mention, though I have heavily cleaned my ROM from 80% of the garbage Samsung puts in. Hence, your cry about the hardware is misplaced, and should be about the software.

Anyhow, the AMOLED is the only reason I have a galaxy phone, and lately I was annoyed by Samsung's closed attitude... If they also skip the AMOLED this time, it will be bye-bye galaxy for me.

Samsung's been always doing that, throwing every gimmick they could to make people buy their phones. Oh air gesture, oh pause play, eye stroll, like seriously my friend turns them ALL OFF to save battery. now they are throwing in another 2K display. AS IF the battery is not bad enough??? Grow up samsung. You can cheat thouse silly people with S3 and maybe S4 but we learn it's all gimmicks.
