2K imo is overkill. Why use something that uses up more battery power and can't even be seen with the naked eye? The answer would probably be ''because we can''. R&D should focus on producing better batteries that will perhaps last more than a day with heavy use.

If this is the case my next phone after my Note 3 will be from another company. Amoled displays are maybe the biggest selling point of Galaxy S series. But maybe the Galaxy F has an amoled display?

i will not buy any smartphone or phablet with more than 1080p display its more than any user needs!
and it will eat battery faster buy more use of system resourses.
i want them to focus on the quality of displayers and think about the battery life that is so more important than put too many pixels in displayers.

Ruined another phone, GZ. 2k S Amoled display was the only super weapon of galaxy s5. Now... I don't think samsung can offer something more interesting than others.

Hadn't we heard the exact same rumor before the release of the s4? that samsung was facing production difficulties with FHD AMOLED panels and that it would be using FHD LCD displays
AMOLED displays are one of the major selling points of the galaxy phones, I don't think samsung would give that up

because Samsung rule the world and please don't blame, this is new technology. Please review 1st the Samsung galaxy S3/S4 to the world Mobile Market before before complaining.

If this gets materialized, Samsung fanboys can't be playing the AMOLED card anymore when defending their dear Galaxy phone against its rivals like Xperia Z2, LG G3. Bwhahaha!

This will drain your battery like squeezing lemon and has no effect for readability or other viewing experience so ever.

It is long know fact that it is impossible for human eye to read out more then ~300ppi.

"... if a normal human eye can discriminate two points separated by 1 arcminute/cycle at a distance of a foot, we should be able to discriminate two points 89 micrometers apart which would work out to about 287 pixels per inch..."

I suggest that Samsung creates S5 as 720p 4.2" non pentile Amoled premium and compact smartphone.
