02 February, 2014
iOS achieved the biggest gains over Q3, but it was the Microsoft platform that grew the most over Q4 2012.

Congratulations, Microsoft! I'm pretty happy with my Windowsphone 8 (Lumia 920). No complaints about my W8.1 PC too.

Carol, 02 Feb 2014I'm sorry for you my "i don't know but like to talk&qu... moreApple hit a dry spell in the 90s, I give you that. But Microsoft always have a dry spell innovation-wise, just look at their history everything they did they were already late (no innovation).

They cheat and steal, and do you know why Bill-o helped Apple stand on her feet? Oh, its because of the anti monopoly rules in USA. If MS was the only company standing in software they would had been hit hard by the IRS so they helped poor ol apple to make it seem that it is a duopoly (it really wasn't).

They scheme, they are lazy (there are bugs in their OS since 1993 and they never solved, just build and build on everything, its inexcusable), they are evil. Stay away for the sake of a better world...

With the growth of wp, I would'nt be surprised if the lumia 520 was the one responsible for a big part of it.

Carol, 02 Feb 2014What a kid... So, let's put it the right way. If you think ... moreThe other two at least have some vision and a certain talent. They want to make money but also change things as they well did. Microsoft never did that, ever since her foundation she was a "me too" company, nothing truly original always joining late a bandwagon eventually dominating it and like a leech suck it dry. It's not that the other two are saints but MS is evil incarnate...

In 2013Q4 they had 10.8m out of 287.8m which is ~3.79%. So actually they increased the market share for about 1.25% (Ofc, its nothing impressive, but it is still growth)

Hope M$ will eat dust in the next few years. There is no company that lacks in finesse and quality, yet would stop at nothing to become dominant as MS. They cheat, steal and kill innovation. The desktop was a mediocre pile of goo up until win xp, I still loathe them for what they calcucatedly did to PC gaming with the release of xbox and what they may soon do to the mobiles.

Don't buy their products even when they are down, they are a wolf in sheep's clothing. Every time I hear ms does well I feel a knife in my back, it depresses me...

If more OEMs join WP8, it would grow very fast. Microsoft needs to cut license fee or give it out for free like Android. Would have miracle growth.

According to ABI, WP market share remains unchanged compared to Q4 last year. So WP increases its sales in a market where smartphone sales increase in total but remain their market share, unchanged from last year. This is not really good news for WP.
