Not only Apple has delivered an elegant method of execution and implementation, their approach to secure it is much better than Samesung, sorry Samsung.

I also worry that thieves would knock you off, get your fingerprint scanned to open your phone. Hmmm. Nasty. Or having you open your phone first and reset your fingerprint at gunpoint.

If there was some sort of combination, like fingerprint and password, I think that would be better. And the kill switch so that your device becomes entirely useless, please.

Fingerprints = NO protection at all.

Passwords are ACCURATE = suitable for encryption. Fingerprints are inaccurate (slightly different each time) and are not suitable for encryption.
The ONLY protection is ENCRYPTION, all other can be cracked by kids in 5 mins.

Fingerprints are STORED AT YOUR PHONE. Thats STUPID and is equal SAFE BOX with PASSWORD containing PAPER glued on it.
But fingerprint databases are paradise for "MUSCULAR" and other projects of lazy NSA/GCHQ guys.

It's ridiculous. Apart from the fact that one's fingerprint can be used in order to frame anyone, the simple phone thief will now have to cut the owner's finger.
They should use a DNA scanner instead, then a mad scientist can clone you hacking the Angry Birds your just dld lol

                                        why so much fuss??

apple denies sharing fingerprint data with third part apps....but your data is still being sent to the NSA.

whether its samsung or apple....just on't use fingerprints to unlock your phone....

On android there are million ways to unlock your phone which are way quicker than some fingerprint crap
