we still not get kitkat 4.4.2 update for galaxy note 3 in Kuwait. kindly let us know when will we get update. it is not fair by Samsung seed late update in Gulf Region

I updated my phone yesterday to KitKat. I have the S5 I9505 and has updated to 4.4.2.
Warning, I am now no longer able to use the stock email client which states that "Email sync is disabled" - there is no option to enable it. I have two options:
1. Sync disabled
2. Master sync has been disabled
As a business user, I need emails on my phone so was very frustrating!! Luckily I found an app on the Play Store, but still not the same!

I unintentionally updated my s4 just the other night and i noticed it overheats on the upper front and at the back portion. I previously had this issue of overheating 4mos ago when my phone auto updated from its original version to the latest firmware. I brought it to services and they restored the firmware to its original version and the prob with overheating and fast battery draining was resolved. Just the other night the same prob with overheating and fast draining of bat returned after my phone auto-updated again. I wanted to downgrade to my previous firmware but services said i shud leave my phone for thorough check up. I dont wanna leave it again to services coz it took them more than a month to return my phone and they told me the tech only restored my firmware to its original version. I wont suggest the update for anyone who have had past issues on overheating and fast battery drain.

I purchased Galaxy S4 from Dubai and I am currently using it in India. Android 4.4.2 was launched way back on 26th February in India. But I have not received the update yet. I tried to do it manually but the server responded "Latest updates are already installed on your device"
I want to ask if this is due to the different region from where I purchased the mobile?
Or should I have received the update immediately after it was released in India?

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2014Yes i am now receiving update, however can anyone share whe... moreon my note 3 I noticed at first it was hard to get the phone to wake up so what I did was the shut the phone down and took the battery out and held the power button for a few seconds and put the battery back in and restarted the phone and now it seems ok. The next problem is I am getting battery drain on my device and looking on line I need to call the manufacturer to see what I can do, I am going to leave it for a while and wait for the next update but not sure when this will happen. lastly my email was having problems and yet again looking online helped resolve this problem. other than these problems the kit kat seems quite good 4 stars!

bhas, 12 Mar 2014sir i purchased samsung note 3 in dubai when will i get and... moreYou can check the CSC of your note 3, just Dial *#1234#, and the next three letters on CSC is you Country CSC, example ***n9005OLBXXUD4, my CSC will be OLB, then go to sam mobile and check firmware, and you will see if you have latest firmware, you can also Install manual update to change your CSC, just download any Kitkat firmware on sam mobiles, I've installed BTU(UK open line) firmware on my Note with original CSC of BOG(France open line firmware) bec France doesn't have updates yet, so now, everytime that there will be an update for Note 3 UK(BTU), I will also receive that update because my phone now has CSC for UK.

4.4.2 on my unlocked S4, transitions are smoother but battery drain seems a little worse atm.

I haven't received the update yet i am using a note 3 unlocked from 02 with a virgin sim.Ive tried kies and OTA.:(
