AnonD-20358, 16 Mar 2014Can you suggest why should we ditch Lumia 520 for this? Esp... moreLumia 520 or Nokia X ? They target different segment.

For average user, Lumia 520 is more than enough. You can make phone calls, messaging, browse internet, check maps, take picture/video, watch movies, listen music, write office docs/spreadsheet, social network, etc.

But if you like to customize your phone, get bored fast, or like to try different things, Nokia X is the way to go.
Also if you're a hardcore gamer, you'd better pick Nokia X. Android has the largest game emulators available. Not to mention that native Android game library is already huge, pretty close to iOS.

Last, if you like choice, you should pick Nokia X. There's many app for browser, video player, music player, office, etc, on Android. Of course it might be daunting and confusing to some poeple.
I know people that prefer simple phone, and only use stock apps. But there's also people that like to explore possibilities, try different things, pushing their phone to the limit.

So in the end, it really depends on what you use your phone for. If you prefer a simple phone that works, go with Lumia 520.

Nokia is destroying our image with poor display and low memory phones

Anonymoussss, 16 Mar 2014The thing that Microsoft (Nokia) dont seem to grasp is that... moreThe thing you don't seem to grasp is the target demographic that buys this kind of phone couldn't care less about the name of the store they purchase their apps from, let it be name "Google Play", "Amazon Market" or "Nokia Store".

On top of that, for a device with such limited capabilities, having a store which (beforehand) removes the apps you couldn't possibly ever run in that phone can only be a GOOD THING, specially considering how the vast majority of the masses will be clueless in properly estimating system requirements for said apps (which they have to estimate, since "Google Play" does such a poor job in actually informing about hardware requirements).

The thing that Microsoft (Nokia) dont seem to grasp is that, NOT many people will buy a phone with no Android Market app store( yes you can root it but for the average person, he/she won't go through that length n void the Warranty)!

Sounds very unlogic. To lure people away from your OS to get them interested in your operatingsystem, by letting them sign up for a competing OS. KUDOS

Yesterday I went to a nokia priority dealer in Pune, India and when asked the service guy showed me the green nokia x ( rooted ). The "go launcher" was in action and it was neatly smooth. But I never knew nokia would root the phone to customers officialy.

looks great with the rooted format. ( to be honest much better than the asha borrowed fastlane concept. Fastlane is good for a feature phone I believe. In the default nokia x launcher, whatver app we download will go to the primary screen, which will make the user scroll a lot.)

A rooted nokia x is a feast to eyes and recommended.
