No you don't need 6 or 8 cores...but if the tech is available, is more future proof, and can be utilized...why not?
And just because you think you don't need it means they should use less, but still charge the same?????
And about gaming they one of the most high end available gpu's to keep up. But that's it. The 5S is the only one to have a CPU that can be compared price wise and kind of spec wise because of it's higher architecture even over a15. But in the end it's still only a lower dual core. And on top of that IOS or not using 1gb of ram for a 64bit device was poor thinking.
And the only reason they have an edge in speed is because of restrictions. Restrictions everywhere. It's system wide complete and utter lock down. This method was used to create the illusion of perfection...but it's a flawed ILLUSION.
Flip phones pre dating iPhone still have a lack of certain restrictions IOS has now.
The first 3 could not even mms until the update following the third iPhone. The first 2 could not take video. It took til second to get 3g. Til 4 to get a camera flash. In fact the 4th iPhone was the first and still only one to actually be caught up and become a decent update to it's predecessor. It was the first to offer decent technology. Screen camera processor memory and all were crap before it and minor updates after.
And speaking of which...Screen??? We are talking screens that have been 3.5-4inches and only qHD compared to 4-6inch 720p HD and 1080p FullHD. And also comparing to the most expensive part of any phone out there. An Amoled.display.
Not to mention you can't send Bluetooth to non iPhones. No nfc. The battery from 4 has only increased about 100mah to the current 7th iPhone...when using non removable lithium polymer batteries it should have been more like 1800mah on the 4...yet some how are still stuck in the stone age of battery life. The physical size of it requires less construction materials. They outsource at ridiculously cheap prices and sell for top of the price making endless mountains of rich profit. They sue to earn back money they spent on parts make some of them cost pennies to nothing. No sd slot. Sticking with smaller camera sensors as of late..improved or not it's still smaller and behind what the competition has to offer even in the affordable bracket.
Let's not forger 1gb of ram when up to 3gb is becoming normal soon to be 4gb. Weather IOS needs it or not is not the question. The point is they are charging the same price as 2-3gb but offering 1. And crippling their own chip by holding it back with 1gb only.
All this and they still sell their devices at the same price as flagship phones with the newest and most cutting edge features...
You know why? Because they can. Because they have a big name with money and power. And they know people will buy it and believe their crap about how premium and advanced it is.. and how it's only what you need.
Pre iPhone flip phones. Had 3g, could mms, take videos, share Bluetooth files, set moving back grounds, some even had camera flash and even task Switchers and file browsers. As well as sd slots and removable batteries.

Apple jumped on the bandwagon, stole everyone's ideas, and restricted their over priced brick.
Smart phones and touch screens were reaching a new era which is why apple wanted in. They made things more popular to the general public because sadly their name means something to the technologically ignorant.
You don't even understand the foundation here...
Knowing the truth and calling out liars and trolls does not make one a jealous hater...retaliating to call someone one back for pointing out your blind fanboyism and jealous hate does make you more obvious and childish though.
Time to grow up and meet reality.

It'... moreapple products are costly i can give u that..but what do u mean by fucked up specs..u dont need a hexa core processor or 4 gb ram for the phone to function properly..apple with a dual core processor and 1 gb ram is able to make products that run very smooth and run all the games at very high frame rates..in the end a customer looks at user experience not the raw specs..so yea apple does make high quality products..

Samsung entirely copied the iPhone and till date they are paying and heck, even in Korea which is Samsung's hometown, they can't win. Apple iPhone can't be compared to cheap plastic copied Galaxy shits and at least Apple doesn't flood the market with iPhones like Samsung does with their Galaxy Line up which are the most ugly looking phones overpriced as hell with cheap quality build.
